Turns out he's ACTUALLY STARTING A RAP CAREER.

I LOVE MONTE!
I hope they do trade him to a team and:
1) he plays dubs and kills them; and
2) where fans have enough sense to APPRECIATE HIM!

Hate it how people spell is name Monte or Montay. It’s MONTA. You’d think after so many years with the Warriors, the fans would figure out how to spell his name by now, huh?

Honestly, I prefer my basketball players to play basketball, and my rappers to rap.
The overlap seems to be almost entirely a function of massive ego.
I have a few friends who played collegiate sports at a D1 level and tried rapping
They had home studios. One the room next to me in an apartment. Guarentee if they went pro and had money, they’d do same thing.
It’s fun, I don’t know how much you can take it serious. Just one way to use your money to entertain yourself. It’s better than a moped ;)
wow
It actually sounded pretty goood.

Maybe that’s why his FG% has been declining these past few years?…

The fact that someone called Ghuy Gomez a legend is hillarious in and of itself.
He’s a radio station dj who has been overrated for years. A legend? Hardly.

Kobe is the worst one on the list, seriously.
Heres Kobe’s hit single, Thug Poet LOL
One giant step in the right direction.
Monta has a Cowboys jersey in his house and claims the reason he wears #8 is because of Troy Aikman.
Whoa, awesome. That makes me like him even more.

… to THE COWBOYS.
(Full disclosure: I have zero interest in today’s Cowboys, but I adored that Aikman/Irvin/Emmitt team).

Actually, I realized the NFL sucks and stopped caring about it, so I can let that one go.
by Missing Barry on Apr 22, 2011 8:44 AM PDT up reply actions
Yeah, same here. Not sure whether it’s that the NFL objectively sucks so much as that these days there is kind of a zero sum of sports interest in my life (with a wife, career, etc.) and the Warriors/GSoM generally take up at least 90% of it. Even the Red Sox have been getting a very thin sliver of my attention span lately. (I think they picked up a couple of pricy free agents in the offseason and got off to a horrid start, but don’t quote me).
There will be no extra point!

Oh, it does objectively suck, no question about it. When a significant portion of the audience for your marquee event tunes in to watch the commercials….yeah, that doesn’t reflect well on the quality of your product. It’s slow. Games take freaking forever. They have no problem screwing over their own fans (blacking out the local market….really?). It’s all one big and effective marketing strategy, but the actual sport itself sucks. It was like my weekend got one day longer in the fall when I realized all this. :)

...
IIRC, longtime GSoMer sam23 also wrote me off as “friend” after learning about my onetime Cowboys fandom. Perhaps that’s why he doesn’t post that much anymore…? :,-(
