Day 21 Rewind

See Preview

LA Lakers 92, Dallas Mavericks 98 (Mavs lead 3-0)

Silver Screen and Roll vs Mavs Moneyball

I am shocked that the defending world champion LA Lakers are down 0-3 to the Mavs. If there's any team that can come back from that it's Phil Jackson, Kobe Bryant, and crew. If there's any team that can choke away this lead it's Dirk Nowitzki's Mavs. Still, I'm looking for the Mavs to advance to the 2011 Western Conference Finals in 2 more games or less. Very impressive work by the Mavs. I didn't think they had it in them.

Chicago Bulls 99, Atlanta Hawks 82 (Bulls lead 2-1)

Blog-a-Bull vs Peachtree Hoops

I'm impressed the Hawks got this far and I'm still not counting them out. I bet the Bulls are sure glad they didn't take Michael Beasley #1 overall in the 2008 NBA Draft. Derrick Rose. Derrick Rose.

Onward to today's action...

Oklahoma City Thunder @ Memphis Grizzlies (Series tied 1-1)

Welcome to Loud City vs Straight Outta Vancouver

2pm PST | ESPN

All I can say is that aren't you glad we're watching these two teams instead of the Spurs of San Antonio Snore fame sweeping the Nuggets?

Prediction: Memphis comes up with the W to give the hometown fans a (minor) break from the flooding drama.

Miami Heat @ Boston Celtics (Heat lead 2-0)

Peninsula is Mightier vs CelticsBlog

5pm PST | ABC

You can be sure the Celtics aren't going down without a fight. This game is going to be intense. If LeBron, D-Wade, and the Heat really want this, they're going to have to bring it.

Prediction: Celtics by 10

The question to ask, though,

is Durant not getting the ball because the Grizzlies are denying him the entry pass?

LOL Westbrook

OKC’s crunch-time scoring has been terrible and so predictable.

pretty much!

do your thing monta westbrook!

Yeah, that's possible true

and that’s the problem he has. Even Kenny and Charles criticized Westbrook for playing to be the “hero”.

by IQofaWarrior on May 7, 2011 5:04 PM PDT up reply actions

Westbrook is going to get a lot of well-deserved flak for shooting OKC out of this game.

Westbrook sucks

Clippers own staples center!!!

by ClipperBEAST on May 7, 2011 5:06 PM PDT reply actions

Now we all know why

Curry destroys Westbrook when they match up, Curry’s a much smarter basketball player and much more skilled for that matter.

by Anonymous1337 on May 7, 2011 5:14 PM PDT reply actions

That was very very smart by Pierce

Just steps inbounds before touching the ball

But he has the humor

I remember the one time he was a guest with TNT, and it was totally nuts. Shaq struck first and made fun of Chuck.

I hate both these teams. There needs to be a way both of them lose.

IF Presti is as smart as I think

I bet he tried to package Westbrook for a PG upgrade. Could you imagine in OKC has Paul or even Rondo?

by tafkasam on May 7, 2011 6:53 PM PDT reply actions

u might be surprised

and ginobili was back real quick with that elbow. looks like rondo has a hyperextension of something in his arm

by Brownie13 on May 7, 2011 7:04 PM PDT up reply actions

well my line of thinking is...

the celtics have begun to rely on Rondo offensively the last year and a half. especially KG, with Rajon out, there’s going to be a fire and aggresiveness on offense we haven’t seen in a while.

by Brownie13 on May 7, 2011 7:10 PM PDT up reply actions

Certainly in the short term

But not long term. I agree with your logic.

I wasn’t worried about Rondo this game as much as for the series, no chance.

and he's back :)

dirty play.

no intention to hurt Rondo, but an intention to bring him to the floor. why? i have no clue.

Wade was trying to draw a foul

Was my interpretation.

I’m so sick of this type of bball being awarded. In an ideal world, someone like Monta looking to avoid and finish would get rewarded over Lebron/Wade/MAggette I’m gonna bowl into you and use my body to pull a foul

by tafkasam on May 7, 2011 7:07 PM PDT up reply actions

he ran into him in a box out...

there was no shot, and rondo had no chance to get the ball. he pulled him down

http://nbawarriors.wordpress.com/

by Brownie13 on May 7, 2011 7:08 PM PDT up reply actions

Trying to draw a foul

I think he was going for contact to get a foul.

This is heat basketball 101. I can’t shoot so I want to get to the line as much as possible.

by tafkasam on May 7, 2011 7:10 PM PDT up reply actions

thats weak.

running into rondo and dragging him down is dirty, whether he’s trying to draw a foul or not. the aren’t mutually exclusive.

http://nbawarriors.wordpress.com/

by Brownie13 on May 7, 2011 7:36 PM PDT up reply actions

wow, Rondo is a BEAST.

Dislocated elbow. Popped back in. Wants to go back into the game.

I love this type of commitment/toughness. This is type of stuff I know Monta, Curry, Dorell and DLee would do, and Andris would not.

by tafkasam on May 7, 2011 7:11 PM PDT reply actions

MONTA?

the guy who almost didn’t miss a game this year despite injuring himself how many times?

HE’d PLAY

I think you misread me

I said Monta would. Curry would. Dorell would. Dlee would. Andris WOULDNT

Not 100% sure on DW

Don’t exactly know why though, just a hunch

As an assistant coach.

Or college head coach.

I don't get why you care how he succeeds

I have no problems with him. He’s shown a lot of respect to Warriors organization and fans. Willing to go on TV in bay area just a week or so after he was fired and not say anything bad, that’s a big move.

I didn’t like the way he coached the team, but it doesn’t mean he can’t improve.

College coach is a good idea though, he does kind of have a college coach mentality.

by tafkasam on May 8, 2011 1:17 PM PDT up reply actions

What?

I just don’t think he should be an NBA head coach. That’s all . He’d be a good college coach.
