Ellis will be traded

I think we can all agree on one thing.

Social media is OUT OF CONTROL. They blog, tweet and report on things that aren't even there. But here's a question for all Warrior fans?

When was the last time you remember this much publicity about one of our players getting traded?

It's been a while.

If this many sources are reporting it, my gut tells me that they're not all lying. You hear sources saying things all over the field from:

He's the 3rd best SG in the league!

What else is he going to say? "Yeah, I want to trade him for Iggy or Rudy, but it probably won't happen so we'll make the best with what we have?" That's not a grown man move. To...

Warriors want more now?

This angle makes me laugh. Social media can sway message boards very easily. On first reports a week ago that the W's were going to trade Monta for Iggy, this site blew up and, in the majority, was all for it. Most of the media was saying how stupid Philly was for offering that.

Then, reports came out saying how Monta is not going to be traded, we want more, he's the 3rd best SG in the league, now we want Gay, Granger or Noah is laughable. After hearing all those, now the W's are all set against trading Monta? What's changed? Nothing...Iggy not only (still) makes our team better, but he takes us in the direction we want to go. Defense! Yet after hearing that, GSOM has swayed back to wanting to keep Ellis, "because he's worth more than Iggy, or because he's the 3rd best SG in the league."

Make the jump to see what is going to happen. (imo)

I honestly think all this publicity is very real. I think the W's have been talking to many teams about many options. But what they're doing is trying to inflate Monta's value.

I have a few conspiracy theories. I won't go into detail with them, but here they are.....

1. Lacob is communicating with reporters and asking them to inflate Monta's value. Trying to build his worth and skill to market him as much as possible leading up to the draft.

2. Lacob is looking at BIG moves this summer. I have a feeling they've inquired about Dwight Howard. We all know Lacob loves him and I bet he's willing to sell the farm to bring him here.

3. I think a lot more than Monta is on the table for Lacob, Riley and West. Lets be real....our team is not good. Lacob et. al know this. I have a feeling they've discussed pretty much everyone on the team, possibly with exception to Wright.....which is weird to say.

But here's what I think will actually happen.

Monta Ellis will be traded (hopefully for Iguodala) on draft day.

I think the Warriors are preparing for the draft with multiple scenarios ready in case a trade does in fact go down, or if a player does fall into their laps at 11.

With all this buzz and a history of Lacob saying that he wants to make moves, and big ones at that, I feel this is going to continue to be a summer of change for the W's.

And please people. I know they're our team and we love their players, but if we continue holding on to players like Ellis who we know will never be a top flight player, we will continue to play an exciting brand of ball and win 25-40 games....and NOT make the playoffs.

But I'm curious to what you all think.
