I did some looking around at free agents and compiled a list of bigs who I felt would be good...decent...or basically better than what we currently have in terms of toughness, defense, rebounding and size.
Here they are, in no particular order:
Glen "Big Baby" Davis (U = Unrestricted) - I feel torn on this guy
Joel Pryzbilla (U) - I think we could get him for cheap and he could be of service.
Tyson Chandler (U) - He'll get a big pay day after his perfoemance and will probably re-up with Dallas.
Nene (U) - Would need a sign and trade
Jeff Foster (U) - getting old....iffy
DeAndre Jordan (R = restricted) - Love the way he plays, but probably will cost too much.
Marc Gasol (R) - Will cost too much, would need to do a sign and trade.
Luc Richard Mmmbahmoutayheyhey (R) - Great defender, not much else.
Kris Humphries (U) - Dude put up ridiculous numbers once he started banging Kim Kardashian, but now they're getting married so his incentive might not be as high.
Carl Landry (U) - Undersized, but love the motor
Ronny Turiaf (U) - see above
Chuck Hayes (U) - see above
Greg Oden (R) - risky
Samuel Dalambert (U) - I always feel he is overpaid and overrated.
Reggie Evans (U) - Hate this guy, but he's tough.
AK-47 (U) - Not really a big, but a great defender
Of those, I feel that Kris Humphries, Luc Richard Mbah a Moute, Ronny Turiaf, Joel Pryzbilla, Carl Landry and Chuck Hayes might be the ones that we could get for $3-5 mill/year and would help the most given we probably can't sign anyone else.
DeAndre Jordan would be #1 on my list.
What are your thoughts on Oden? I feel torn whether or not we should take a risk on him. Wait, Jerry West said we need to take risks....is this what he meant?
Now, I might have made a mistake here or there with player options, other technicalities, etc etc. But this is a rough list of some bigs this summer who might be up for a signing.
