Would the TWolves do This?
Plus 2 and 20 pick.
Ridnour is decent backup pg--certainly better than what we have now, imo.
Wayne Ellington is 6'4 200, can give spot min at either G spot, and has a cool name.
Pekovic is thrown in to make salaries work. Plus, he's big and can give 6 fouls.
Pick 2: either Kanter/Williams doesn't matter both could help our team.
11: best wing available, emphasis on defense/length on tie.
20: Faried. Dude is in the mold of Blair, Hayes, etc, aka a banger. Undersized 4 who's idol is the Worm.
Plus, we get $1.6 to a big. Or we can dangle those picks to get into next year, or try D12 (who we will never get)
Better question, would we do this?

Answer: No, the T-Wolves would not do this. I don’t think they’d trade those 3 players + the #2 and #20 just for Monta. If anything we need to throw in the #11 + Monta for the #2.
With Rubio coming over...
they are trying to get rid of PGs. Flynn would be the ideal person they trade, but that ain’t happening. Pekovic is thrown in to make salaries match.
In terms of worth, we’re trading Monta for Ridnour, 2, and 20 in a weak draft.
Actually, Minny is trying to trade Flynn to the Knicks. Ideally, you want a solid PG to backup a rookie and Ridnour is a lot better than Flynn.
Beasley

Also, swap #2 for #11.
Riley desrves a chance!!!!

i put Beasley originally
but under this scenario we would draft Williams, who is a Beasley clone (hopefully not the headcase though, that’s really what is holding SuperCoolBeas back)
in my scenario...
We would draft Kanter with the #2 pick

Usually, when you suggest a trade:
Rather than just include a link to the trade machine, please describe the trade in a post.
The trade machine is slow, wonky, and often hangs.
supposedly, Milwaukee is considering Bogut for #2

How can every team in the NBA be in a better position than us?

we're actually not that bad
its just GSOM is a hub for pessimism. we may have bigger holes to fill, but we also can offer packages that can match a lot of other teams.

I disagree. We are bad, and have been for a long time. Many of the posters here were infants when Run TMC was playing. To say that a fansite as frequented as ours (30 million hits) is pessimistic is to ignore the fact that we’ve only made the playoffs once since 1994 (in a league where more than half the teams make the playoffs). We have every right to be skeptical, and, given the franchise’s checkered history, it would be naive to behave any other way.

i disagree
we’re not bad, but we’re not good.
mediocrity is frustrating, but far from bad. all i was saying is we have the trade chips to make ourselves better.

Because we broke the bank to get Lee.
Because we like competing for the 8th seed, and show very little foresight and try to sell a win now approach, even though we’ve never had enough talent to do so.
Because we draft 24 year old rookies 6th overall.
Because our most talented players are diminutive.
Because we “needed” Marcus Williams.
Because winning 35 games is acually worse than winning 25 games.
Is that enough reasons why?

I love it
I feel like the Marcus Williams deal doesn’t get nearly enough pub. It was so pathetic it is beyond comprehension….

Ha, call it “patheticness fatigue.” We’ve made so many regrettable moves it’s hard to keep them all in your head at the same time. You always remember the biggies — Fuller over Kobe, shipping out Webber, e.g. — but sometimes the lower-profile pathetic moves slip through the cracks. It’s like, you’ll wake up in the middle of night and say, “wait, did we REALLY pick Ike freaking Diogu over Andrew Bynum??”
There will be no extra point!

I try to bitch about this deal to my friends
and the consistent response is, “Who is Marcus Williams?”

they want Williams at the expense of their Center?
Bogut’s really their only Center. I don’t see this happening. Where’d you read this, Evanz?

Hopefully Warrior brass has something up their sleeve

Beasley can still be good
He’s still young, is a streaky shooter, and can rebound pretty well. I’m not sure if he defends at all and also is a tough size for the NBA (too big/slow for 3, too small for 4).
But I meant Beasley > Lee if you include their contracts.

true on the contracts
but beasely is a horrendous shooter, limited defender, terrible clubhouse presence, and alright rebounder.
lee is a stellar rebounder, superstar teammate, hustler, streaky offensively, and a horrendous defender (though there were those games we’re he shut down howard and love (the first time, not the 30/30 game))

Lee is not a stellar rebounder. Lee is an alright rebounder. Beasley is a poor rebounder.
Still agree- Beasley sucks.

Kevin Durant at KU was the greatest single basketball performance I've ever seen live
I think he started the game like 13/14 and ended up with well over 40 pts. One man wrecking crew….

Yeah
he was awesome in college, but he’s been a very bad rebounder in the pros. Actually, he’s been pretty bad at anything.
