Rumor: Suns offer Robin Lopez for Ekpe Udoh and 11th pick
Link from the reported deal below
http://www.fantasysp.com/player/nba/Ekpe_Udoh/1668921/the-suns-have-reportedly-talked-to-the-warriors-about-a-deal
According to the site the suns have reportedly talked to the warriors on this deal.I think Robin Lopez is a good solid center. His career stats show potential, especially the 09-10 year with the suns.STATS HERE:http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/4477/career;_ylt=ArbzHLkxm4bq34J2rYMoMkfaPaB4
For Biedrins, if this deal goes down most likely he will come off the bench for Robin. But, if this deal works we might lose ekpe a power forward who we didn't get to see much of last year and might be an all star.

Hell No.
Keep the nightmare. Udoh’s got too solid a future to waste on a no more than OK center. The fact that they also want our 11th pick? Crazy.

yup
this looks like another one of those “the offer is on the table” deals…kinda like Monta plus fillers for Dwight Howard

I would do
Lopez for the 11th pick. Certainly not for Udoh.
Charlie Bell for Lopez.
that might be interesting. Any picks for him would seem to be a waste.

Robin isn't that bad
he does come from an uptempo system, and his numbers look ok, esp in 09-10.
When you compare them this season Udoh has a lower Offensive rating (98: 105) and they have the same Defensive Rating (110). Robin has higher WS (.074: .032) . They even played similar minutes (991 for Lopez, 1030 Udoh). Robin shoots better from the field (efg% .501:.434) and from the line. Based on stats, this trade is a no brainer.
But, I still wouldn’t do this, especially with the 11th thrown in. If we swap picks, I’d consider it, but would still probably pass. Watching the game, Robin looks lost out there a lot while Epke looks more natural for lack of a better term. Ekpe looks like more of a basketball player than Robin
oh and whether or not we have Lopez or Udoh, I think we should look into Glen Davis. I heard a rumor Dude wants to test the FA waters, and word is that he and Doc don’t have the best relationship. Doc recently extended his contract, so Davis may be looking to get out of there.
His playoff performance this year sucked, but he’s played well the previous years. Would come in and be second most accomplished person (NBA wise) in the entire organization (!!). He brings toughness and effort that we lack, and would be a fan favorite. He’s a bigger, better Ronny Turiaf. Plus, Lacob knows him from Boston.
Have him backup Lee, and for small ball we can play them together (Lee at 5, horribly defensively but whatevs), him and Lopez/Udoh/Biedrins/Amundson/draft pick/me/the kitchen sink off the bench would be solid.
Hopefully he doesn’t command too much money, or else he isn’t worth it especially if he would take us out of the running for a starting 5 (Nene, please no Dalembert)

He’s a bigger, better Ronny Turiaf.
More like a shorter, stumpier, fatter, much, much worse version of Ronny Turiaf. He doesn’t defend the rim or set up his teammates, which are perhaps Ronny’s two best qualities. And he’s a horribly inefficient scorer, where Ronny’s an extremely efficient one.
Basically he’s nothing like Ronny Turiaf. He probably has as much in common with an actual baby — like, a screaming, drooling, peeing, crapping infant — as he does with Turiaf.
There will be no extra point!

i dont understand why everyone is married with our draft picks. udoh was one of the worst 6th picks ever. up there with of GSW picks: ike, POB, foyle, pietrus, beans, dunnothing… the list goes on. we need to be drafting the BEST player available if that player fills a need then its a win win… but if that player only fills a defensive need well then its limited… players i would have taken over udoh: monroe, george, aminu, davis, patterson, bledsoe, henry, saunders, because personally 4-5 of those guys will be better then udoh

i would way rather find a way to find this sleeper in the draft!!
Zach Harper, Daily Dime Live: Some people are talking about him, but it doesn’t mean Jeremy Tyler isn’t THE sleeper pick in this draft. Two years ago, he was a couple of good life choices away from being a top prospect in this draft. Instead, he followed bad advice and stunted his own growth. The right NBA team could end up winning the draft with him.
I like Tyler's talent
But he’s EXTREMELY raw. All caps doesn’t emphasise it enough. He’s a complete project and I’m not sure if he’ll ever be more than a JaVale McGee-type anyway. We’ll need to do a lot of work if we were to trade down (or buy a late No.1) and take him.
What a bad idea
Lopez for either Udoh or the 11th pick alone might be a fair deal, but actually I’m hoping the W’s can get a better player with the 11th pick, like one of the Thompsons or Valanciunas. I see no reason the Suns should get two things that are worth about as much as Robin Lopez for one Robin Lopez.
Laughable
Ronny Turiaf > Robin Lopez. Are we coming off as super desperate for size or something? Not in a million years.

Lopez for the 11th pick straight up, keep Udoh as depth

No, no, you misread me.
I’m looking for a win-win trade. Robin Lopez isn’t an immature headcase at all. Not one bit! His back problems are totally no big deal, and his awful rebounding for a man his size and tendency to get in foul trouble are totally fixable. Trust me!

I agree...
BROOK would be a steal for the 11th pick!

What I learned from this post:
16 percent of the fans on this site are either Suns fans or want the Warriors to fail.
Lol
I misread the trade. Not thinking, I read it as Robin Lopez + Suns pick at #11 for Udoh. And I still rejected it.
What????
This is not even worth reading about. We can get a much better player for the 11th pick alone
So basically….we forewent Paul George and Greg Monroe for Ekpe because of the defense he could provide…and now they want to trade him (and our first rounder pick no less) for one of the worst [big man] defenders in the league? Srsly GTFO

We obviously didn’t.

Please No
He isn’t worth both a number one pick and out number one pick from last year. Horrible trade for the Warriors
This is obviously NOT going to happen.
Why on earth would we give up our starting center, yes as of now Ekpe is our center until Management puts out an official Rotation. I’m sure that Robin Lopez might be good short term, (by short term I mean maybe first half of the season). But our management is looking to built a franchise, not just make the playoffs next year; but to be a contender for the title. They realize Ekpe and Jeremy Tyler are going to be the key for our center position. Also you have to realize that Ekpe Udoh showed a lot of promise and potential as one of the great shot blockers in the NBA. He needs time to adjust and solidify his mid-range jumper and post moves. Once he gets his foot work good, and learns how to use his talents; I have no doubt in my mind he’ll be a contender with Dwight Howard and Josh Smith for defensive player of the year award. (Given that Ekpe follows Dwight Howard and hits the weight room)
