It's all over Twitter, but I'm not sure if this is actually for real. Other players also involved if is true. Definitely not what many people expected, that's for sure. So far, it's not on any big site (ESPN, etc.), so take it with a grain of salt for now I guess.

not great

allen can obviously still play and is a much better defender than monta

but how motivated hes gonna be on the WARRIORS instead of the contender celtics idk

jeff green would be a nice addition i suppose. but he SUCKED on the C’s last year and idk how pumped i am for an undersized 4

yeah…last season he said we don’t even belong on the same court =\

ClipperBEAST..

I’d do it. Ray allen would be the best mentor for Klay. Jeff Green coming off the bench for the 3/4 would be too nice. He could possibly take Dorrell’s starting spot..but I doubt it.

by Golden State Kush on Jun 24, 2011 4:14 PM PDT reply actions

Maybe we could flip Allen to a contender

Still nothing on Si, etc. on this, by the way, Just a bunch of re-tweets. Anyone else seen this rumor anywhere?

by Lynch's Golf Cart on Jun 24, 2011 4:17 PM PDT reply actions

True, Goodpoint.

Clears capspace. I’m good with it!

by Golden State Kush on Jun 24, 2011 4:18 PM PDT up reply actions

I think it does if the retirement is officially filed, but I’m not positive. Love to know for sure, if anyone would care to chime in.

by Uwe Blog on Jun 25, 2011 12:36 AM PDT via mobile up reply actions

If he retires, he doesn’t get paid, and it also doesn’t count against the salary cap. If he retires mid-season, any money paid to him already counts against the cap.

Doesn't work under the current rules.

Too much money coming back to the Warriors by half a mil.

I have no interest in Jeff Green.

Ray Allen will be 36 before the season starts. Love him as a player, but with two years on his contract, there’s a bit of an ouch factor.

i hope this is a smokescreen for the rest of the league to see whats going on

monta for ray allen may be a huge trade in the eyes of the rest of the league, but for us, we’re getting smashed from behind. i see ray allen not producing at a high level. playing against the heat during the playoffs…he rarely did anything and I LOVE RAY ALLEN. i just dont see how ray allen will help us excell except maybe jeff green can help. but we need a solid 2gd and i dont think ray allen will produce with this team.

lets hope this will get other teams on the phone and see what they can get for monta and beans. the only benefit of this trade is the dump of beans.

i do love the celtics and the scoring will be greatly benefited and needed. i can see beans reviving a career under the celtics “honor”. if this trade goes through, its a direct trade towards miami.

curry & iggy TEAM USA buddies.

Green COULD back up both the 3 and 4 but I agree with the above posts...

either take Biedrins as well, or throw in future picks.
