I'm really liking our coaches right now. Strong willed, no nonsense coaching.

"Coach Malone knows his stuff; great coach defensively and offensively,’’ Hornets shooting guard Willie Green said. "the best thing about Coach Malone is that he can translate and relate to players. He can show you what you didn’t do on film and then go out on the floor and demonstrate it. all of our coaches are well prepared.’’

also doesn't hurt to have your dad in the biz too
On the defense on Blake Griffin:
"Well that is one of our packages in our defense; we try to trap from underneath the basket. We watched them versus Orlando, Coach [Michael] Malone talked to his dad (Orlando assistant coach Brendan Malone) about it and they did the same thing to them…

I'm pretty excited for the season (knock on wood, short/no lockout pleasE)

We’ll know VERY quickly who is committed to winning and who is not.

This guy has a proven record of success. We’ll find our quickly which of our guys want to win but were just misguided, and which ones are just out for there stats….

I'm really hoping that pre-season isn't cut.

Implementing such a different defensive system will surely take time. It would be nice to have the players learn from their mistakes while the games are meaningless.

from what i have gathered about mike malone

he kind of reminds me of tom thibbs. he will make players who are ok at defense seem like complete defensive shut down players. he seems to bring that passion and with a duo of mark jackson and mike malone, i’m pretty optimistic about our core of coaches.

so think about this….bob myers, jerry west, mark jackson, mike malone. thats a pretty darn good core of thinkers and doers. add in lacob and i might as well say it larry riley, we’re looking at doing some damage on the business side of basketball. now we just need to present with players and we’re playoff bound for sure.

curry & iggy TEAM USA buddies.
