Making the Case for Jeremy Tyler
Prior to last week's draft, the Wages Of Wins blog featured a story about Jeremy Tyler. Andrew Lowman came to the conclusion, such that it was, that Tyler has a long way to go, but showed real improvement in his time overseas.

N.B.A. Prospect Gets Chance
another article on JT, had posted this previously, it’s from NYT: N.B.A. Prospect Gets 2nd Chance in Japan

Both articles are good reads,
And its clear that Jeremy needs structure and to be held accountable. With the right support system which I hope Jackson provides, there’s no reason Jeremy can’t thrive. That is unless he doesn’t have the heart and mental makeup. This situation can go two ways: Amare Stoudamire or Kwame Brown.
"That was very funny about the old man basketball skills. One is lucky to escape injury when playing against those crafty, crusty sumbitches. And it’s just demoralizing when they demonstrate yet again how to use the backboard from range." - Charlie Custer

needs…to be held accountable.
Yup, and I think this will be a theme for most of our players this year – from team captains down to rookies.

I saw this before the draft...
…but felt like the author was really reaching to justify his conclusion. The takeaway for me was that Tyler was below average when compared to other import players over an entire season.
Honest opinion...
Take it from a guy that knows him personally… The kid can play!
I’ve been coaching at San Diego City College for the last 5 years and when Jeremy was a sophomore till about 3 months ago I’ve been able to see this guy change, for the better! At our open gyms with the likes of Kawhi Leonard, Dominic McGuire, Malcolm Thomas, and Billy White, he in the last couple of months played tremendous against all of them while being the youngest…
The kid has handles and finishes everything above the rim. He’ll get his jumper NBA ready in 3 years and with the right STRUCTURE he could be at the very least… be better the Beanz defensively and definitely offensively!!!
