D-League Hall of Fame

I've got a question for GSOM readers. In light of the Warrior's picking up the Dakota Wizards, I got to thinking about some of the D-League gems the Warriors have picked up in the past.

Star-divide

While the past front office had the tendency to disappoint in the draft, the free agent market, ability to make trades and keep good pieces, etc., I've always been excited to see who they'd find in the D-League. It always felt like we were able to grab some undiscovered talent - a diamond in the rough. I was a huge Kelenna Azubuike fan, and I was pretty big on what CJ Watson could do at the backup PG position. More recently, some nice team players have built careers from their stints with the Warriors (Tolliver), and of course our very own Reggie Williams.

That being said, I'm only really knowledgeable of the D-League players the Warriors have grabbed up. I was wondering what other good/great players have come out of the D-League and done big things in the NBA. Who are the best of the D-League? Are the Warriors the team taking the most advantage of the D-League because our team has always had so many roles needed to be filled, or have there been other teams that have pulled out some really good serviceable pieces that have had lasting NBA careers?

To clarify what I mean by D-League player, it doesn't necessarily have to be a player that was undrafted like the guys mentioned above. To me, anyone that has spent a significant amount of time in the D-League counts. I wouldn't count guys like Terrence Williams for example, but I would count guys like Thabeet, Jeremy Lin, good ol Patrick O'Bryant.

Thoughts?

We picked up Morrow in the Summer League

Not the D-League. He’s never spent time in the D-League.

Still got mad love for Bookie, I hope we can sign him for a cheap contract. He’s still a Warrior at heart; never even suited up for the Knicks.

Wait I don’t understand why Morrow is called a D-Leaguer when we signed him as an undrafted rookie.

Chuck Hayes. Matt Barnes.

from the perspective of d-leaguers who don’t get to the big show, Amundson is ‘h.o.f.’ too. Rafer Alston. Chris Anderson.

Azubuike is the best pickup you guys had, 2nd goes for Reggie Williams

The best D Leaguers who make decent roles for themselves in the NBA are guys I feel are guys who know how to fit a specific role on an NBA team very well. In the NBA, anyone can drop 15 or more points any night, but how does a player get those points, how much hustle does a guy have for the ball when rebounding or on defense, etc.
