I agree 100%, Dre.

Not only is he the perfect fit alongside Curry, but he clearly has his priorities in order. Acquire him now, please...

Here’s the Jimmy Kimmel skit from whence it came.

Apparently Oden and LMA beat them.

There will be no extra point!

You get a rec for making me laugh

But I’m not sure he is perfect next to him, he needs the ball in his hands to be most effective much like Steph. Someone like Joe Johnson would be ideal cause he has the size and off ball ability (not suggesting we trade for him though)

He’s a very good fit but not perfect, Monta offensively is though cause 1 is a slasher and the other a shooter and they set themselves up well with kick outs and finding each other on cuts . Defensively Dre is a better fit though

actually

watching the team USA over the past summer, iggy seems to do just fine with his offense usually is created by off the ball and his defense-creating-offense.

i remember somewhere on some website quoting curry likes to play with iggy the most over the summer because they complement each other so well.

another thing is that i think people underrate his defense so much. i mean alot of his offense in philly is due to his defense. maybe its just me but yeah i do agree that when he does have to ball he tends to be even more effective, but with steph, they’ll be the backcourt to watch!

agreed

to add to your points, iggy really doesn’t need the ball in his hands, because he’s not really much of a scorer. everyone thinks he’s a top-notch scorer because of his dunks, but he’s more like josh smith – doesn’t score that much, doesn’t worry about scoring much, plays efficient offense and shares the ball well.

and he is an elite defender in this league. I’ve heard from analysts and players that believe he’s as good or better of a defender than LeBron or Howard, and just doesn’t get the recognition because of his offense (case in point: derrick rose getting votes for all-defense team)

yeah

but i think that would change with curry in there. Philly had no spacing whatsoever, no 3-point shooters, and very few players who could score well.

Meeks and Louis could shoot

Holiday a little bit too

Right

So they could shoot and space the floor a bit

Compared to us, though.

Not even close.

He is a good fit

But not perfect cause to be most effective on offense he needs the ball in his hands, if he had a better jump shot I think it’d work much better

BOOBS. lol

Seriously though. Hopefully we can trade for him in the offseason, assuming the Sixers want to dump his contract.

If they just want to dump him

The 11 and Bell for Iggy! :)

How about

Biedrins + C Bell + 11th pick ??

Philly is looking for a center, Biedrins is looking to redeem himself

by Babyface Assassin on Jun 6, 2011 3:07 PM PDT up reply actions

It isn’t exactly a salary dump for the Sixers if they’re receiving the same amount of salary as they’re sending out for around the same length remaining on their contracts. The Bell+#11 makes the most sense in terms of what a dump would entail, but that would basically destroy what’s left of our cap space in the process.

Preferably, getting Iguodala would come in the form of a 3-team deal, with Monta being shipped off to a team with the space to absorb his salary (Cleveland? Minnesota? Memphis? Toronto?) while we take back Dre’s contract. But that’s another issue altogether, having to convince another bottom feeder that our overrated, inefficient scorer is better than what they already have.

If Oden could stay healthy Portland would be scary good.

Love iggy but...

he’s too expensive and too old for a team that is 40 wins out of the playoffs. we know he’s not good enough to be a teams best player and he’d probably do a worse job leading this team than Monta. Kind of a lateral move. This is a win now type of move for a team that isn’t constructed to win now.

Defensive specialist shouldn’t be paid so much.

kinda agree

but having him and picking up a legit center…we have curry/iggy/wright/lee/good center. that is actually a pretty good lineup, regarding that we also pick up good backup options too. we can do alot with a backcourt of curry and iggy. i still hope we could pick up a better small-forward because i see wright becoming a good 6th man. so

curry/in
iggy/reggie - 11th/reggie
11th pick/Wright - iggy/wright
lee/lou
*FA
/udoh

pretty good lineup.

trading for iggy

wont leave us cap space to sign a good FA center. signing a FA center only comes from trading monta for a high draft pick

by bigkino217 on Jun 6, 2011 5:02 PM PDT up reply actions

i almost think that Dallas would do a sign and trade for Monta with Tyson Chandler. They need another offensive option, terry has been good until the finals but Monta would be a huge improvement and they probably won’t be able to keep Chandler anyway since they extended Haywood.

by Balance on Jun 6, 2011 7:17 PM PDT up reply actions

lol uhhh

i don’t see how that would help dallas at all. how is monta a huge improvement over terry? and chandler is the player that made them a championship contender. why would they do this?

by bigkino217 on Jun 6, 2011 7:42 PM PDT up reply actions

Monta, Terry , Barea and Roddy B

No way that goes wrong
