He’s the best coach for that team. They wont beat teams defensively but they have the roster to run up scores. Beasley will be a 25 ppg guy under Nellie. Plus Nellie has a stiffie for Tolliver.
Definitely.
I remember the reason Nellie didn’t want to coach anymore was when they didn’t re-sign Tolliver.

convenient revisionism
try another version — Nelson saw the proverbial writing on the wall, that he wasn’t in the new regime’s plans, when his request to retain Tolliver was ignored. And that was minor, compared to being ignored by Lacob after the team’s sale went through. The anti-nelsonites have a tendency to overstate his influence over personnel during his final seasons.

Do we want Randolph back?
and if so who would trade to get him.
Lacob hates him.
Not happening.

True
But if Mark Jackson wants him and we can get rid of Charlie Bell and other contracts.
I called this months ago
Seemed like a great fit for Nellie - and the way the Warriors did Nellie, I think he really wants to go out on a positive note.
This team is young and athletic, and contrary to public opinion, Nelson can develop young players – especially Point Guards.
No way the Wolves are even close to factoring A Randolph in their decision as to who they hire. Rather, it’s all about KLove and Rubio – 2 players that will love to play under Nellie.
I see it happening and if so, I see the W’s finishing behind the Wolves (barring a trade for Howard)
derrick williams
might have to be factored in with those two especially since i highly doubt love will be a twolve for too much longer. we’ll see
Eh, I dunno why Nellie would want to do that. He’d be spending winter in Minnesota, all to coach a talentless, mismatched pile of crap that can’t play defense (furthering Nellie’s reputation as not caring about D) and won’t win many games in general. I can see why the TWolves would want him, just not why he’d want the TWolves.
But
Kevin Love outlet passes?
Derrick Williams is also a near prototype of Nellieball PF.
He’ll love the fact they have zero wings though
Seriously.
But they need to trade one of their bigs for a wing.

True, Nellie would realize what a bum Flynn is and make sure he never has to embarass himself in the NBA again.

“we should have adjusted more to fit Jonny’s style as well. We should have been able to have our cake and eat it too, and also install some things that play to Jonny’s capabilities, to push the ball and to get into some pick and roll situations. And I think Kurt erred maybe too much on the side of trying to teach Jonny how to be the perfect point guard, without giving him some opportunities along the way to have some success.”

Yet another reason for Nellie to avoid that job like the plague.

and i forgot they have brad miller
This is like nellie dream bigman lineup: Love, Miller, Tolliver, Williams.
Just launching jumpers and outlet passes all day
Yeah, Rubio and their bigs are a great match for Nellie.
But the wings suck so bad. He needs a couple of wings who can play the 4 on occasion, shoot the 3, and defend decently well.

Minn should consider Musselman
he’d work for a lot less money than Nelson and have huge motivation to succeed. When he turned around GS he got the offense turned around without neglecting defense, and he’s done well with younger guys in the d-league.

I'm confounded.
He did a good job as coach, i’m curious why he was ever fired. Seemed like the best coach we’ve had this decade besides Nellie 2006-2007.

IIRC Montgomery was killing the college ranks and they thought he’d be a sure thing in the NBA? Much like KeithSmart both Musselman and Montgomery were not really given enough time to see what they could really do and i’d take any of the three plus Nellie over oneliner MarkJackson.

Eh Monty lost the team, especially Baron, and got to the point where all he was doing was collecting paychecks. Maybe he could succeed in another NBA position, but it definitely wasn’t going to happen with us, and he’s a great fit for college coaching anyways.

i'd disagree with your statement that keith smart was not really given enough time to see what he can do
personally, i had seen way more than enough to know that he’s an awful head coach
Because Xs and Os are not all there is to coaching
No players liked him or responded to him.
It seemed like they liked him.

From what I remember
(and someone can clarify if i’m wrong… it’s been a few years)
They liked him first year, and he seemed to lose the team..
AR15 might consider suicide if this happened
It's just a plant, it grows in the earth, and if you happen to set it on fire there are some effects...
LOL
He hated Nellie huh?
