Trading for Nicholas Batum?
Batum's agent is meeting with the Blazers about an extension-
Nicolas Batum said that playing time would be the main factor in signing an extension with the Blazers.Batum is averaging 22.9 minutes per game in a reserve role behind Gerald Wallace.
The Blazers have until Jan. 25 to sign Batum to an extension.

Kevin Pelton recently wrote about the issue of finding more playing time for Batum-
http://www.basketballprospectus.com/unfiltered/?p=810If he doesn't sign an extension, Batum will be a restricted free agent. With all the contracts the Blazers have + resigning Wallace and Felton they might not be able to match his contract without going into luxury tax for a back up.
Perhaps offering Udoh or Klay (or both) could pry him away. Or perhaps Biedrins (with the uncertainty of Oden and Camby being 38, while eating a few contracts. Batum a proven quality 2way NBA wing, who is only 23. He has versatility to play the 2 thru the 4 depending on match up, and is a player, I think is dying for a bigger role. We have less contraints.

The Blazers have always been high on him
I doubt they take klay or udoh and definitely not beans. They would probably want curry, no thanks

I'd definitely send Klay or Ekpe
maybe even both for Batum.
Thompson and Udoh for Batum and a 2nd?
Blazers have a very good team this year. Probably championship-contending material despite losing Roy and replacing him with Jamal Crawford. And with their roster at its healthiest in years in a shortened season, now would be a good time to make that big push. I doubt they’ll trade a solid contributor and defender in Batum (who was starting before Gerald Wallace was traded over) unless they get an offer they cannot refuse.
i dont know why everyone is so willing to just dump udoh
he’s been defensively proficient – easily splitting most of the defensive load off the bench with rush
It's lonely being the only Warriors fan at UMass :(
Because Batum could start at SF, while Udoh will primarily be a good back up.
But we don’t have many bigs in the first place so I wouldn’t feel great about our big rotation after a move like this.
"I thought it was going in," Warriors center Chris Hunter said. "It looked like the invisible man tipped it away at the last second."
"He's chicken curry right now. He'll become beef curry a little later on."

Really?
He’s one of two players on our team with a positive overall RAPM score (especially DEF). He had one last year as well. Batum has never had one in any year he’s played and his DEF RAPM has been substantially worse than his OFF.
While Udoh’s certainly no world beater, casting him off as “highly replaceable” would just seem unfounded. Who would you recommend we replace him with?

exactly
the next move needs to add a starter. To get one for Udoh and/or Klay would be a nice bonus.

Udoh and Klay for Batum or Beans for Batum
Huh? I thought we are thinking the same trade for Howard.
I prefer to get Howard than Batum. Haha

They value Batum like a star
And while he’s solid I don’t think he is that awesome, I’d rather have Udoh to help the front court then Get a 3rd SF (4th if you include Rush)
RIP Al Davis
For Biedrins or Lee yes but Udoh?
No, more defense up front
Interior defense> perimeter defense
RIP Al Davis
yes, get batum please
but only if udoh isn’t involved
Huge contract, as in..? I don’t think he’s going to earn somewhere around 10 mil a year. I can see something as in 6-8 (8 if he’s lucky), but I doubt he’s going to receive a “huge contract.” Either way, I don’t see the Blazers having interest in any of our players besides Curry since he’s an upgrade over Felton. Like you said, Batum is good but I’m not totally crazy about him either. If the opportunity presented itself, sure, let’s see what we need to give up.
He’s not going to get the contract that Gerald Wallace is gonna get, or the contract Deandre Jordan just got. I’d place him closer to Afllalo in contract (which isn’t small) than either of those guys.
I heard he doesn't like music.
