I don’t think I like that one…Granger isn’t much different from ellis and he’s going to be paid more over the next three years. If we trade Monta, it should be for a defensive stud at the wing position, or for a center. Otherwise, keep him. He’s one of like two players on the Warriors that demonstrates any semblance of fire and tenacity.

Why are the Pacers so desperate to be us. Are they blind?

by seespotjump on Jan 16, 2012 6:14 PM PST reply actions

The PRIMARY reason I am not digging this idea

Is the Curry situation.
Monta is playing great this season for the most part. He is also really improving in the decision making area, with lots of assists to show for it. If Curry continues to struggle, a player like Monta seems more important for us the Granger.

I don't even think Indy would do it

Bird came out and said Granger is untouchable

Despite the fact that Granger is not having a good early season I would do this.

If Stephen Curry can remain healthy. Granger has better defense and historically is a more efficient player than Ellis. Also Granger can get to the FT line, the Warriors need someone who can get to the line consistently. Why not? honestly if Granger’s terrible early season numbers are not due to injury he will most likely bounce back.

And we need Monta with the Curry situation

Indy is doing really well right now, no way they mess with it yet . I just don’t see how with the way the team is constructed taking into account Steph’s ankle this really helps us. Who creates shots? Jenkins? Move Klay into the starting lineup? That’d be a delusional evaluation of how good Klay is

Monta for Granger straight up isn’t that bad, it’s just given both teams situations I don’t see it happening

That’s how I feel too. I feel that the starting SF position is the weakest on our team. This isn’t meant as a slight to D. Wright, but the chance of him “catching fire” any time soon seems like a long shot. I’d like to see him slide to a 6th man role. I am ambivalent on who fills Monta’s position: it can be a combination of Rush, Thompson, or Jenkins. I like Jenkins’ girth despite him being an undersized 2-guard. I’m not convinced he can hang with the better SG’s but my gut says he can hold his own better than Monta in that department.

I agree with your points.

Also, about Jenkins. He doesn’t have the height to play SG, but boy is he big. Dude’s arms are like Azubuike’s. If Jenkins and Wade ever went at it, it would be a battle of the guns.

You think DW is less reliable then Andris?

I’d say they are about even

I’ve been disappointed by the lack of development in Wright’s game. He’s still a one dimensional three point shooter who has never developed an ability to drive with the basketball, dribble with his left hand, or score in the post.

by Slightly Hyphy on Jan 16, 2012 11:32 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, I noticed this last game

he really doesn’t have a left-hand dribble?!

wow, how you can make it to the NBA with such a major element missing….

maybe

if Hibbert was involved, definitely.

Ellis for Granger....?

Grainger is getting kinda stale aint he? 4 or 5 years ago this would been a good deal but now I don’t like it much. Might consider it they give us Grainger and Hibbert for Montay and Dre instead?

I agree on him getting stale

He has been on a downhill trend

It'd be a good deal.

Nothing extraordinary.

by GovernorStephCurry on Jan 16, 2012 9:35 PM PST reply actions

Not really

We pay more, for a player who is not better, but is older.

Sideways at best, likely a move that’ll only make it harder for us to make future moves, since Granger is unlikely to appreciate in value.

Granger cannot create a shot like Monta, and passes worse than him. We’ll be less dynamic.

I’d rather dump Monta for a pick or prospect which saves money and gives us potential to build something, than take Granger.

by tafkasam on Jan 17, 2012 7:37 AM PST up reply actions

I don't think you have watched much of Granger.

He’s been a better scorer than Monta besides this year (hardly saying much).

Don't like Granger

He chucks even worse than Monta, everytime he touches the ball he will not pass it to someone who is more efficient like paul george or hibbert or even david west. Defensively he might be better with his rebounding and blocks. Granger is not the reason pacers are doing well.

lol granger

by Brownie13 on Jan 16, 2012 11:01 PM PST reply actions

Meh

We can do better. Granger is not an upgrade, at best a sideways step with more salary commitment. His defense is bad. He’s game is less dynamic than Monta which would hurt our team, and he’s not a passer.

How about trading Monta for someone actually better than him or prospects with potential to be?

by tafkasam on Jan 17, 2012 7:35 AM PST reply actions

I wouldn't do this

and this report is BS. There is no way, Warriors offered Monta to get Granger, it would make no sense…. Even if we’re talking about Warriors management
