Is Bogut our last chance at getting a center this season?

Do you think a trade for Andrew Bogut and Carlos Delfino for Curry, Udoh, Biedrins, and Thompson would gain any traction?

thats not a very good trade for either team.

they already have jennings at the point. and this trade while it would give us a big man would leave us at a huge disadvantage at the pg position

I think the Jenkins/Monta backcourt is promising. Jenkins has the body and mobility to guard the 2. Plus, Monta has shown he can run the show in spot minutes.

Maybe they throw in steph jack

And we can run a Monta, jackson, dorell, lee, bogut lineup? haha

by Raiiny on Jan 16, 2012 10:43 PM PST reply actions

That’s not a bad lineup, actually.

There will be no extra point!

Throw cash at Kaman or Mcgee.

by J-RIDAH on Jan 16, 2012 10:48 PM PST reply actions

Neither are appealing

Kaman is on a downward slide and cannot provide interior defense

McGee while talented isn’t that good , he tries to do to much which is what separates him and Jordan. If he was as good as his talent suggests the Wizards would be better

5-9 mil

But I feel like he’s going to get 11-15 mil

Id give him 11. I think he can be coached up.

Hopefully

Its stuff like this which is concerning, look what he does after he blocks the guy, the play is still going man…

I feel like were going to give him more then 11 which is sad, but I think the Wizards will match but I could live with him at 11 mil

He’s a young athletic Center averaging a double double with 3 bpg. In todays nba that can get you a max deal.

by J-RIDAH on Jan 16, 2012 11:39 PM PST up reply actions

I know

Which sucks , maybe we could work out a sign and trade for him similar to Lee with Biedrins and Klay shipped out

That'd leave us with this

PG – Curry, Jenkins
SG- Monta, Rush (RFA)
SF – Wright , League minimum guy like McGuire
PF – Lee , Udoh
C – McGee, Kwame? (hopefully), Tyler

Note – I don’t think we will make a move at the deadline

Another S/T possibility

Indy can match offer tho.

Sidenote- I knew DH was gonna add LAC to his destination list.

by J-RIDAH on Jan 17, 2012 9:04 AM PST up reply actions

yeah i saw LAC coming.

its hard not to consider LAC because they have both CP3 and Blake. But its going to be hard to get Howard on that team though.

Hibbert can be matched, but a S/T could very well happen. Hmm…a full trade including monta + lots of filler for granger and hibbert??

Monta for Hibbert would be great for us. Hibbert and Biedrins would be a great C combo. Then our only focus would be a SF.

by J-RIDAH on Jan 17, 2012 9:54 AM PST up reply actions

and SG, amiright?

please dont say Klay is our starting SG…I guess I could live with Rush, but I wouldn’t be happy about it

I would love to have Hibbert though

a Center is always tradeable for a SG, so Biedrins for something is a possibility

Also after we trade Monta, we can shut Curry down for year, and Hibbert will get his ‘welcome to the warriors’ injury to keep him out too

We can draft Barnes, boom SG solved.

by tafkasam on Jan 17, 2012 1:25 PM PST up reply actions

well if the trade i presented were to go through,

we would get both granger and hibbert for monta and fillers. thus leaving SG as our only weak spot. but i think brush or even granger can share the SG/SF position or add dorell in place of brush.

Yeah

I’d like Hibbert, because he’s actually a center with a low post offensive back to basket game and good passing ability.

Unfortunately, only way Indy won’t match is if he go near a max.

by tafkasam on Jan 17, 2012 1:27 PM PST up reply actions

so far DWright is the wrost

so why trade away Lee, Beans and Klay when we can trade away DWright?

didnt you just say recently that you'd give him the max?

If he was as good as his talent suggests the Wizards would be better

Not when Young, Crawford, Blatche are averaging over 4 shots and shooting under 40%!

How Wall even gets assists is beyond me.

We could trade them Monta and Biedrins for Rashard and amenesty him… oh wait :)

7’0 and hard to stop down low. We just need to monitor his minutes.

Hard to stop down low?!?

Last year his TS% was below .500, and the year before that it was .520.

Seems to me like he’s easy to stop.

Curry is a better player.

by Ronaldinho on Jan 17, 2012 9:49 AM PST up reply actions

Bogut last year

was coming back from that nasty arm injury, I think he’ll come back around to being a very good player…

my problem with this scenario is that I don’t see the Bucks giving him up for anyone on our roster

by Duby Dub Dubs on Jan 17, 2012 10:26 AM PST up reply actions

I like him defensively.

But he’s not an elite player. He’s only had two seasons out of seven with an above-average efficiency. He’s not a high-volume scorer. He’s better than any center we have on our roster, but I’d rather have Curry.

by Ronaldinho on Jan 17, 2012 12:01 PM PST up reply actions

yeah, I'm ok with your take on him

my point was just that, beyond even the value of this trade, the Bucks wouldn’t sacrifice Bogut just to improve at the PG spot

by Duby Dub Dubs on Jan 17, 2012 2:11 PM PST up reply actions

It's a gamble

and that’s what most trades are with big name players. Looking from the Bucks’ perspective, can they get their hodge podge of players to come together and get to the playoffs? With their decreasing cap space for next year, which free agents can they get to come there and help Bogut? What pieces do they really have to trade with? How long is Bogut’s health going to last as one of the team’s heavy scorers.

The best course imo for Milwaukee is to rebuild, and the deal offers 4 good pieces.

by GoldenBlue on Jan 18, 2012 12:31 AM PST up reply actions

He was injury plagued until he turned in it on in 09-10, then he had the freak accident. We’re not valuing him as a volume scorer when we have Lee as an offensive weapon. We just need Bogut to be a solid defensive presence for 30 min/night and be a threat down low. Also, just because he is not an elite player does not mean he is not worth trading for. As long as you have a team that can cover all the bases and play as a cohesive unit, everything eventually falls into place. e.g. the recent Pistons.

Well, the proposed trade included Biedrins. So we’re still playing 18 minutes a night without a solid defensive presence. Bogut is better than Biedrins, but you might have noticed that Biedrins is playing really good D right now.

As for still being worth trading for, sure, but at what cost? Not at the cost of our best offensive player.

Giving up Curry and Biedrins for him is crazy.

by Ronaldinho on Jan 18, 2012 10:15 AM PST up reply actions

If Curry and Biedrins have that much value right now, how about just those two for Bogut. To trade for a big name like Bogut, Curry needs to be in the deal. The jury is still out on Biedrins.

We keep Udoh to soak up the back-up minutes and have Klay continue off the bench. Call me crazy, but I see Klay as a 6-7 Curry in a season or two.

by GoldenBlue on Jan 18, 2012 3:55 PM PST up reply actions

Bogut is not a big name.

I wouldn’t do Curry-for-Bogut straight up. I might think about it, but I really don’t understand why you think he’s that good.

Curry is an elite offensive player.

I guess some of this is just typical GSOM “what have you done for me lately?” and with Curry being hurt, every assumes that he’ll be hurt forever/he sucks/whatever.

I like Bogut’s defense a lot. On the other hand, I like Curry’s offense a lot.

by Ronaldinho on Jan 19, 2012 10:44 AM PST up reply actions

agreed

When you hear, New Orleans wanted Curry for CP3 over LAC’s deal, it shows you type of value he has.

Maybe injury has people concerned, but as soon as he plays a month straight, the risk is gone. Besides, even if he gets hurt again, why would we trade him at a low value?

Might as well hold onto him, and if we are going to move him, get a good two way player.

by tafkasam on Jan 19, 2012 10:53 AM PST up reply actions

yeah he changes shots and can somewhat shoot.

but his team (bucks) have a serious defeciency in scoring. the bucks don’t really have that leader and Bogut tries to be that guy, but fails when no guard can set him up perfectly.

curry is the perfect complement for a big like Bogut. The only reason I can’t see him in a Warriors Uniform is because Bogut may actually be the best player on the Bucks, and no way we are trading for him unless we give up something huge…and I dont know if the Warriors FO would do that. But I’m sure Monta for Bogut and some extras (from GS side of course) could do the trick.

I think there are better options to look for however.

curry & iggy TEAM USA buddies.

by bimmercirem3 on Jan 17, 2012 12:56 PM PST up reply actions

well, Fesenko is half as good as him, but 1/10 the price

I said get Fesenko and Aaron Gary > Bogut, since when one injure, the other can still produce.

by ILoveWarriorsGirls on Jan 17, 2012 12:36 AM PST reply actions

We can have all three if you’d like.

i would say we should go after mcgee since our FO seriously likes Chandler, DJ, and Howard.

They all look and act the same (block, defend, athletic). Yes Mcgee plays reckless and is just dumb sometime…but he is still pretty talented. He is currently playing on a very young team with a PG(John Wall) who isn’t that smart…just athletic. John is a good player, just not a good team player. With McGee and Steph, I can see a good player in McGee playing much smarter.

If you have watched any recent Wizards game, they look dispirited even with John Wall who is supposedly their franchise player playing. They look like they can’t work together.

well i wasn't directing it at you, but my point was that with all the talent the wizards have,

they all don’t fit perfectly. Maybe McGee can fit in with Curry/Monta. But thats a question mark in my mind. I can very well see McGee coming to the Warriors because we would have to give him big money like we did with DJ and Chandler.

Mcgee would beast here. I said I would give him 11 because thats the cap space we have. Id give him more if we had it. The 5 spot in the NBA is terrible right now. If you can get your hands on a good one you better do it.
