if we lose to the Kings next week....
Fire Mark Jackson. It will prove he has been a downgrade from K. Smart.
It will just go to show all this bs he's been talking is in all reality... BS.
We needed a proper coach with nba experience and lacob signed up a media spokesperson.
Unbelievable. We are the laughing stock of the NBA. Everyone must love playing the warriors and beat us down to show the world how pathetic the organization is and we still pull almost 20k to every game...
I feel sorry for us.
Sigh....

We are the laughing stock of the NBA
there are at least a handful of teams that are worse off than we are
Also, try to be patient.
In spite of the pre-season bravado, this roster is not exactly screaming “playoffs”
…even to the most Homer of homers, I’d think at best the roster mumbles something like “maybe 8th seed”

LOL yes They are. playoffs once in the last 20 years
THIS TEAM DOES NOT DESERVE ONE FAN THEY HAVE
I’m actually questioning my loyalty at this point after being a warrior fan for my whole life and that’s saying a lot because i love basketball. It’s Sad because i’m actually hoping for the Hornets to move to Sanjose…For the Warriors to have the fans they got, and they didn’t deserve and to bad that BAD for that LONG.. This team has been sugar coating sh*T for too long, my enthusiasm for this team has been lost……………

yeah Jake I definitely feel you on that
It is frustrating. I feel like our management and coaching is just all talk. They sound all sugarcoated like you say but there aren’t any results. I have always been a nor-cal supporter and am a fan of the Kings as well. I am hoping they beat the Warriors, and think they can with the talented bigs they have. Warriors need to just tank to get their pick. I kinda feel like they take the fan loyalty for granted. by the way, they should lower the price of food at games.
Carmelo Anthony is the most overrated player in the NBA
our new team slogan

J-RIDAH: Its not 1 player in this draft better than Monta or Lee. Anthony Davis is no different than Al Farouq Aminu. Andre Drummond could be good but he is not impressive at this point at all besides his size. This draft is hella overated.
(JaVale) Mcgee is better than anybody in this draft.

hey, if that's all we got...
evaluating where we are, and how good the team is, we have been at the bottom of the barrel for a long, long time, and I see no easy path to get better. I say “easy” because I think a full rebuild is totally out of the question, at least till we get a new GM. How the hell you pin all this on the head coach is beyond me. But give some credit/time to the new ownership for having to deal with Cohan’s mess, at least.
We are close to the worst team. Bottom 10 easy. And I agree that some of the moves by the new ownership are concerning, but they are at least engaged, willing to spend money, and looking to hire folks who know what the hell they are doing (success level on all of these areas is pretty bad so far). We are squarely mediocre to sub-par, but not horrible (IMHO). I think it’s a little extreme to call the franchise a “laughing stock”
Also, I’m glad we’re giving the current roster a look. First few games of the season, everyone healthy and playing well together, I’ll admit I was secretly hoping for the 8th seed. Maybe we really shoulda kept Nellie, and let him just keep trying to outscore the other team. Because I don’t care what coaches you bring in, you can only coach so much into a guy
this is a good article, if you haven’t read it, tanking is by no means an assured process either (especially with our buffoons running the show). My worst fear is that we dump Monta and/or Steph, and then strike out in the draft.
How sure are you that our FO could properly execute the tank, even if fully authorized?

Some would say being where we are is the worst place in basketball.
Too good to not get a high pick, not good enough for a playoff berth. We’ve been in this position for nearly 2 decades.
Warriors brass need to wake up and smell the roses, we’ve had this same core for two years and surprise, they are who we thought they were. Time to move on.
"I thought it was going in," Warriors center Chris Hunter said. "It looked like the invisible man tipped it away at the last second."
"He's chicken curry right now. He'll become beef curry a little later on."
-Keith Smart
agreed
but I guess what it comes down to for me is that I have pretty much zero faith that our FO could actually do this right, even if we do go down an intentional rebuild (which I would do if I ran the team)

STOP! JUST STOP. MJ is not getting fired, win or lose against the Kings.
The only reason your so upset is because you had high hopes for this team, that wasn’t a good idea on your part.
what has Mark Jackson achieved this year?
All I see is our defense is still pathetic and we have lost all our offensive spark.
His rotations are horrible. When the 2nd unit is doing well instead of rewarding them, he removes them. I can’t understand the logic.
Iv seen it happen on many occasions this year.
Monta iso’s. Why run an iso when you got some of the best 3pt shooters in the league?
What had Charles Jenkins done to not get minutes?
Like the front office, it looks like all of Jackson’s decision making this year has been utterly questionable.
Yeah I agree I think we have gotten worse. I hope Keith Smart and the kings blow the warriors out by a god 20+ points

Well, it is not MJ's fault
I never saw him drew up any play. He is not even a bench warmer, he just stand there to watch the game. Feel bad for those people paying $1500 VIP seats to see MJ’s butt.

did you see that one in-game quote
some front row fan told Jackson to “sit down” and MFJ replied back that the fan was welcome to stand up too
As an aside, if you can spend $1500 bucks on a Dubs game, I don’t have much room in my heart to pity you

Clearly Keith Smart is a better coach than Mark Jackson at this time.
This ownership group is focused on building around super stars and Mark Jackson has repitoire with today’s NBA star, Keith Smart doesn’t.
The NBA is a deeply fraternized crew and Lacob wants to be in on that. That’s why we have Jerry West, that’s why we have Mark Jackson.
as a fan
Doesn’t that seem a little short sighted. It’s like they’re playing with our feelings.
The warriors will struggle to attract the neutral fan base if they keep these short of antics up.
as a fan Doesn’t that seem a little short sighted
yeah but short sighted is their vision. They want to sell tickets and if they can do that losing with a bunch of overrated celebs they’ll take that over winning with a real guy like Smart. Remember these are businessmen and not basketball fans they have no loyalty to the mechanics of the game just to the dollars.

that sucks
We may as well call ourselves the New York Knicks or New Jersey Nets of the West.
I understand its a business, we should be putting winning as our main priority. It does the fans injustice if we keep losing but sell out the Oracle game in game out.
Mark my words, the warriors will lose their fanbase they have outside their core.
If these antics are kept up for the remainder of the year, next year I’ll re think my decision to purchase league pass and be refined to checking scores in the late night news bulletins.
This will slowly start happening to the local fans that make an effort to get out to the games. Trust me, we don’t want to be like the Pistons where half the seats are empty.
i think they can lose for two years straight and still keep thier fan base.. look how rabid we are!
they have sucked forever and yet still we are here! everyones inner homer of hope still clings to the fact that we will get lucky in the draft and be a dominant force one day. and when that wagon arrrives we will say we were here the whole time!

ACtually more on management than the team

if we lose to the Kings next week....
bottom line is one of our nor cal teams is gonna benefit from the loss, so Kings or dubs one will get closer to a sweet draft pick( assuming the Kings still have their #1 this year and haven’t done something stupid like trade it away?)

that would be fine if it means the dubs keep the first round pick. worst case would be both teams falling too far to get a difference maker .

well lets see...the roster isn't built for what MJ is preaching
if you’re going to compare smart and jackson, then give them their right roster and go from there.
This roster is still Nellies roster (which is Smart too). All the ingredients for small ball and run-n-gun are there. For Jackson to coach Defense on this type of team is ridiculous. I had high hopes for Jackson, but given this starting 5, its not going to happen. The bench is actually doing what Jackson preaches and plays more to Jackson’s game plan more than the starters.
What to do: blockbuster trade the starting 5. Keep Curry since he is still young and has that potential. Monta should go (as much as I love him) because he will become an Allstar for some other team and we can net more off a package with him and beans. This year is already over so might as well get that pick or just trade for picks. Completely rebuild with Jackson and Curry and maybe DLee.
curry & iggy TEAM USA buddies.
sorry dude but im still calling for Jackson's head
I don’t mind blowing the team up if its for the good and will bring winning basketball to the team.
Jackson’s credentials should not have landed him a head coaching job. It looks like a pure PR decision on the part of the front office. The dude was a substandard commentator and it was obvious he couldn’t read the game. His stupid comments is evidence.
Look at the wizards. They are pathetic and they know it. There only a couple of games behind us and they’ve got rid of their head coach and now will try to go forward using different tactics.
Sactown has done something similar.
When will the warriors froNT office start reading between the lines!
jackson's not getting fired
for better or worse. but i won’t be surprised at all if we lose to the kings
cowch smart will outcoach coach jackson
Just how smart was outcoached when he was a rookie coach.
by Xtremelink on Jan 24, 2012 7:13 PM PST via mobile reply actions
Save the instant gratification for the LA teams and their pretentious fans...
Winning doesn’t happen overnight – although I can’t argue one playoff run in almost 18 years is horrible – but you have to give it time regardless… You can’t expect a rookie HC to come in and revamp the franchise, especially with the roster we have. The outcome of our games and seasons at large can not solely be placed on one person.
And for those people “questioning their loyalty” please go be a fan of another team because the last thing we need as true fans are people who care about liking a winning team as oppose to liking the home team… don’t be a tool … Loyalty > Royalty!!
Coaching in the NBA makes a very little difference
How many coaches are we going to blame our lack of success on? The NBA is a player’s league. You can only put 5 guys on the court at one time so; one guy can make a huge difference. That one guy, we don’t have. We don’t have a super star. We don’t even have an all-star. This team is mediocre at best. The 8th seed? You realize that is exactly middle of the pack, right. That doesn’t necessarily mean you’re a good team by any significant margin.
This team simply lacks the talent to be a .500 team. I remember last year, when the advanced stat guys where rambling on about how we were projected to win over 50 games. I pointed out how unrealistic that was and that Vegas had our over/ under at 35. What did we win? 36?
I love Lacob’s enthusiasm but what he says shows just how naive he really is and how little he understands the game.
Hopefully this franchise will make a move before the trade deadline and dump some of our players for Draft picks and young talent because we’re not going to trade for a superstar and we’re not going to win without one so we should be playing the draft and creating cap room. I’ve been saying it for years. Sure, it’s not the “fun” thing to do but, had we begun the process years ago we might be in a much better spot. If not, we’d most likely at least have a brighter future.
The fans will still be there. We’ve proved we’ll show up and support this team no matter what. So I don’t understand why they won’t take the obvious route to build this team.
We don’t have a super star.
we don’t even have a garden variety asteroid.

It's true that teams sell their success or they sell hope.
And at least for the majority of our suckage we had some amount of hope in the form of Wright, AR, POB, Ike, Jrich, Gil, Tawn’, Murph….
We don’t have success, and right now it’s just really hard to find a glimmer of hope that we could be a better team one day without going into nuclear tank mode. Even though that’s not a guaranteed success, at least I can see the logic behind trying to build a team and cultivating your own talent and taking your lumps.
Keeping the status quo imo, is acting in a state of denial and a slap in the face to the fans who pay money or spend their time to keep up with this organization.

We have way too many holes on this team
No solid SF
No solid Big man
Our game plan every night is to shoot the 3, and ISO Monte. I don’t even think we have a playbook.
But even though our record is the same as it always been, our defense did improve. The problem now is consistency.
We need to keep that pick and trade Monta so we can get a solid SF and big man
