On The Oklahoma City Thunder:
"They have two great players and another that can take over a basketball game. We went in saying we couldn't have those three guys have big nights - they did. And Serge Ibaka did what we've been asking our big guys to do. That being said, a little over five minutes to go it's a ballgame they scored 28 points in the last five and half minutes basically. They have a different motor, they are a different animal and we have to learn to do that. We don't have the luxury to be able to turn it on when we want it. It's a good lesson."
On The Oklahoma City Thunder Style Of Play:
"That's the way they play, that's the way they practice and that's the way they get after it. They are a very good basketball team, best record in the league - give them credit. This was a winnable game for us. We made mistakes, they pounded us on the boards, we turned the basketball over 20 times, they got 19 offensive rebounds and they scored 35 points in the fourth quarter with 58 points in the paint. We didn't do it today."

On Matching The Thunder's Intensity:
"They executed the offense better. I think we fought hard the whole game. We just had a lapse in couple of possessions, they got an and one, I think a transition bucket and forced a turnover. I think our effort was there but we just let the game slip away in a crucial moment. They scored too many points down the stretch. We just have to match the energy for all 48 minutes. We just didn't finish out the game."
On Coach's Message To The Team:
"Just keep fighting. He did mention on just matching the energy for all 48 minutes and coming up in big moments during the game. We just have to keep fighting and keep pursuing every possession and not lose faith. He still believes and we still believe. We just have to get on a nice little winning streak."
Klay Thompson
On Defensive Assignments:
"It was tough but that's the NBA. That's what we expected. They have some of the best scorers in the world. We just have to fight. We didn't do enough of that. I kind of think we laid down a little bit but we're going to be working on that. We stayed in front of them but they just hit tough shots. That's what they do. We're going to keep working on the defensive end because that's what wins games."

No real Center in the 4th, Damn it again!!!!
What’s up with the small ball. I thought we were done with the small ball. I have noticed a trend, whenever there is no center in for Warriors we get killed on Offensive Rebounds, and we can’t execute our offense.

Andris has 11 rebounds in his last 85 minutes

When Jeremy Tyler was in.
We went on a run to close it to a 3 point lead. Just when David Lee comes in for Tyler, we cant get a board. I like Lee, but going small is not going to work against an athletic team.
Tyler wasn't grabbing boards either.
In that stretch, the Thunder only got up 2 shot attempts, to our 7. So our good play with him on the court had little to do with rebounding.

what i learned from this game.
1) no one on our team is an elite rebounder. we need a lot of help in this department. we need a real center.
2) if curry isnt shooting well he is a huge liability on the court. on defense he cannot stay in front of his man as westbrook kindly pointed out and on offense he is turnover prone and cannot drive to set up teammates.
we need a real pg.

rebounding situation fluctuates, depending if andris is playing well or not, or in the beginning of this season with kwame it seemed like we had rebounding somewhat solved.
as for curry, he hasnt been here for 4 years first of all, second we keep thinking he can develop into a decent point guard. its time we gave him up for something else.

When Kobe facilitates, teammates would sometimes pass the ball back to him and force him to make plays. Or, because of his wrist, he wouldn’t pass the ball accurately and commit a turnover (that’s what happened many times against the Clippers).
As for Bynum, although he is a good rebounder, other players may not go after the ball and allow the opponent a 2nd chance to score. Our players have size, but lacks speed.
Basketball is a team effort, and you can’t just rely on one player to do everything (scoring, rebounding, passing, etc.).

He COULD
but during the past several games, it turns out that double teaming him is an effective way to limit his offense. And once Bynum has the basketball in his hands, he either shoots, draws a foul, miss, or-in a worst case scenario- commit a turnover. That’s why it’s important for Bynum to be aggressive on offense before he gets doubled up.
Also, Bynum’s FT shooting is not very good.

What is wrong with Monta?
He’s not attacking like he often does and his jumper is really bad right now, he’s passing well but he kind score right now.
Anyway …
Tyler – Start him. Why not?
Lee – Again, good scoring numbers but interior defense sucked and never rotated to Ibaka on his jumpers
Curry – When his shot isn’t falling I’d like to see him do something productive like set up people. I don’t want him to become the type of guy where he must have his shot flowing for him to be effective
Rush – He was bad tonight, butterfingers galore
Klay – Best game for him so far, as just an off screen shooter he’s awesome. Anything more and it gets ugly. Smart plays though with his inside passes

I got a feeling he hasn’t got long left in a warriors uniform. He knows it and its definitely having an adverse affect on him. Poor dude he wants to stay so bad

Slower pace makes it easier to check his dribble. Unlike rose for ex., he’s a poor ball handler. How much more have you seen him take a first step in half court sets lose the ball and have to recover.

yeah, the team has not treated him well. If they wanted to build around montay they should have found a bigger guard than binky to pair him with. I hope he finds a place where he fits in and is happy.

The funny thing about this is, he’s shooting the fewest number of long twos since 2008, and also shooting his highest percentage since then (although, not by much). He’s also attempting 28% of his shots at the rim this season, as opposed to 25% last season (and he’s getting to the free throw line more, so that number is probably underselling how much he’s been attacking).
The main difference is he can’t hit a three to save his life, and he’s still taking 4.4 of them a game.

I would like to comment on the whole "PG defense doesn't matter" thing
It’s been around a long time. It’s not about PGs. Teams can always get away with having one perimeter player who is bad on defense.

most of his blocks come on fast breaks or in help defense
and really have nothing to do with him getting beat in the halfcourt. i agree he does get beat a decent amount, but it rarely results in a block for him
