damn, we are pushing it still...hopefully he's young enough to completely get over this, but I'm worried this problem will never go away.

Glad to see his new ankle brace last game, we gotta keep him on the court...."averaging 19 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds over his past four games."

J-RIDAH: Its not 1 player in this draft better than Monta or Lee. Anthony Davis is no different than Al Farouq Aminu. Andre Drummond could be good but he is not impressive at this point at all besides his size. This draft is hella overated.

(JaVale) Mcgee is better than anybody in this draft.

I spend my days worrying about Stephen Curry’s and Rob Gronkowski’s ankles.

What a fool I am…

Trade curry & whoever for Dwight. Trade monta & whoever for deron Williams. Done.

NO NO NO

If he’s in pain after every game then SIT HIS BUTT DOWN. Even if it means the whole season. Clearly playing on it is causing long term damage which can’t be measured right now. Jackson needs to worry about making the playoffs for the next five years, not specifically this year.

It isn’t tanking if the team plays its young untested players and tries to win with them – it’s call rebuilding and developing!

by joegiant on Jan 31, 2012 12:16 PM PST reply actions

His ankles will likely hurt for the rest of his life. So better SIT HIS BUTT DOWN until he gets reincarnated.

He must have also sprained his left wrist that he uses for those lazy one hand passes at some point in his life. But as long as his shooting arm/hand are healthy then the fans will always love/overvalue him.

that makes sense

It must also effect his under the basket touch fouls for the and 1

by azw on Jan 31, 2012 2:38 PM PST up reply actions

I hope he’s well enough so that the Wariors can send him, D Wright, D Lee & Biedrins to Orlando for D Howard and Turk

by Babyface Assassin on Jan 31, 2012 1:36 PM PST reply actions

Do you make that trade even if you’re 99% sure Howard will walk at the end of the year?

There will be no extra point!

by Sleepy Freud on Jan 31, 2012 1:52 PM PST up reply actions

no way

trading one bad contract (Lee) for another (Turk) doesn’t make sense, even if Turk’s is a couple years shorter. It’s still a bad contract.

by KillaContract on Jan 31, 2012 2:50 PM PST up reply actions

First, there’s no way to know that Howard will stay or walk until he gets here. Second, I think we are bad enough that we need to take this gamble

by Babyface Assassin on Jan 31, 2012 3:26 PM PST up reply actions

YES

Because either Howard makes a difference – Playoffs and wants to stay OR he leaves and with that the W’s are left with NOTHING.

NOTHING is actually not a bad thing, because it represents a clean slate. This team is in a horrible position to build a contending team. The only way to get a difference maker is get rid of the very piece that needs to go with that difference maker to become a contender.

Catch-22.

So, if all else fails – starting at Zero is not necessarily the worst case scenario.

i think sleepy was asking you guys a rhetorical question here.. the answer is supposed to be NO!

HELL NO . you lose curry and dw and howard ultimately (we are 99% sure here)
and we are also stuck with turk…

by PIRATEWARRIOR on Feb 1, 2012 6:51 PM PST up reply actions

hahaha, you WISH it was rhetorical

I think there are definitely a handful of people who would legitimately make this trade.

the ankle is still definitely affecting Steph's game

anyone else notice those missed layups? He’s seemed hyper-sensitive to getting his shot blocked over the last few games (resulting in missed layups as he tried to go up and under, or force the layup to the side away from his defender; rather than just going up for a more natural approach)

by Duby Dub Dubs on Jan 31, 2012 2:17 PM PST reply actions

I have noticed that as well

But I think it is more him being afraid of landing wrong, or landing on someones foot. I am sure that he always has that ankle on his mind. I least I know I do

by azw on Jan 31, 2012 2:43 PM PST up reply actions

Missed layups have nothing to do with bad ankles. Its a mental problem, you miss the 1st 1 and you start thinking too much about the next 1, then somebody blocks 1. He was never that athletic in the 1st place so its not like he can explode like Westbrook or Rose to the basket. Anybody that has ever sprained the same ankle more than once knows that the pain will never fully go away. You can tape it up and wear a brace but it will always be slight pain in that ankle. Now after surgery it may feel close to painless but how many times can he have surgery on the same ankle only to re-sprain it?

by J-RIDAH on Jan 31, 2012 3:09 PM PST up reply actions

disagree
Missed layups have nothing to do with bad ankles.

this is just what I see, but to me, it looks like he is aware of how little hops he has right now. None of the bricks have been wide-open, it’s usually him “hearing footsteps” and doing something weird.

but the bad ankles

probably have something to do with the mental problem, which means the ankles most likely do have something to do with the missed layups

by azw on Jan 31, 2012 3:45 PM PST up reply actions

If it was his ankle he could easily jump off his left foot for a layup. Thats not it.

by J-RIDAH on Jan 31, 2012 5:18 PM PST up reply actions

good point

maybe it is the landing that’s got him worried

by azw on Feb 1, 2012 1:58 PM PST up reply actions

f it was his ankle he could easily jump off his left foot for a layup.

you need both feet healthy to get up to speed and to add to the hops. Just jumping off one healthy foot doesn’t solve anything.

ankles hurt and are swollen after sprains for MONTHS

The headline of this article is stupid. This is a normal thing (and it seems like Curry knows that). Ankle sprains are always long term, because you are tearing/stretching ligaments. As long as he’s not turning it without contact, nothing to worry about.

What we should all be praying about is that he doesn’t come down on somebody’s foot. There’s no guarantee that won’t happen, and there’s nothing anybody can do to prevent it. So the fact that’s he’s less athletic and doesn’t jump all over the place is good news here.

On the flip side, the only way he’s going to regain the confidence to jump around on the ankle is to jump around on that ankle. So everybody stop freaking out and remember that he has top-notch physical therapists who know way more about all this stuff than most here.
