Just a reminder for those writing off Klay. The lockout did no rookie a favor.

ya, way too much klay bashing.
If his defense can be ok to decent or hopefully a little better, then we will have a really good player. his offence can be better than average i think..
Klay defense is pretty good
because of his size when guarding SG, and his is a bit quicker than DWright when guarding SF. He seems to have pretty good court vision too for rebounding and steals.

Thank you
I’ve been trying to defend him and have pointed out this same fact. Curry was pretty horrible in his first pre-season and was fairly ordinary the first 30 games of the regular season. It’s funny how many people considered Klay garbage after a few bad games.
lets hope klay gets better with time. it will be good for us in the long run if we ever needed to use as trade bait.

lol, trade bait eh….sounds like you have little faith that he will ever be a valuable player for this team..
well...honestly, i don't think he really offers much in terms of what we really need.
we need a better wing player and i don’t see him being that. I see Klay being a good 6th guard but thats not important right now. Right now we need to focus on a dominant center or just a superstar player. If klay can become good, it will help in the end.
if we don’t use him a trade bait, we still have a good 6th guard. all im saying is that we have to look at all avenues.

I just don’t see it coming unless we can get it from the draft, we had a chance at Monroe and took Udoh, we had a chance for Bynum and took Ike…both times I was flabbergasted…
In order to get those type of players we need to get real bad on a good draft year…like this year….I would be happy being last with the first pick…otherwise were stuck debating stats and watching the elite players go to other teams, were in basketball purgatory and there is no end in sight, so sit back and enjoy the ride ;))
as far as draft pick, anything other than #1 pick are 50-50 chance
1st round picks can be NBA ready players, but it is hard to tell if the player can be a star player or even a starter

Somehow the first part of that last post didn't paste in. Part 1 ;))
Right now we need to focus on a dominant center or just a superstar player
That was our quest before we got CWebb, and it’s our quest today still, it comes around about every 20 years if your lucky or unless your the Lakers.
I have very little hope we can land that big man outside the draft, we can’t even get an old center without much of an offencive on the open market…
Sure he does
He can pass, he’s got good court awareness, he should be a deadly shooter. Unlike Morrow who can just catch and shoot, he’s got awareness to spread the floor. I’d like to see him drive a bit more which he did in pre-season (6 fta’s in 41 mins).
I’m not saying he’s NOT trade bait but it’s possible he’s a useful player
Just curious to see how he grows out. Could end up just being a Korver. Could be much more
He’s gonna have to feel his way, trial and error, he has some tools, I can see him becoming a good player, not a powerful guard type, more of a fineness type, he needs to get stronger….that’s what Kobi and Wade did over a few year period…
He’s not explosive, he’s going to have to out think you, kind of like Curry…
I agree with that last part. I won't write him off yet.
But I think it’s fair to point out in game of he’s sucking ass or not. As long as it’s objective, of course.
At least Currylicious had a game winner in preseason!

Im expecting Klay to totally crash and burn tonight ;)) I hope not but I can see it going either way, he had his stroke last night so let’s see if he try’s to forces it or if he lets it come to him..
At least we can compare Klay and Burks up close tonight.

Last night was the first time he did anything to show me he looked like he belongs in the NBA
I don’t think anyone was calling him a straight bust
But yeah, when his shot falls…nice

Good Point
I haven’t uttered a bad word about Klay. He looks like a true NBA player to me. And, at the 11th pick or whatever he was, thats a good thing. I’ve been impressed with his handles and BB IQ. When he finds his groove, he should be a very good player.
I actually really like this team. We’re still missing a perineal all star/ superstar. But I like Klay, Jenkins and Rush. It gives us some good size/ defense at the wing. I’d like to see Jenkins play more. And, more aggressively too.
Yeah, hopefully he nuts up and starts producing consistently.

I would jump for joy if he was kevin martin
- in a weak draft being kevin martin would be a steal
People should give Klay a chance.
Every player is different. Anthony Morrow scored 37 points on his first NBA start, while a future HOF player like Kobe Bryant had a rough first two years in the league. Just because Brandon Jennings scored 55 points on Stephen Curry, doesn’t mean he’s the better player.
It’s too early to write off Klay. At least let him play half a season first (even that is too early, some players don’t become great until after a couple seasons).
