What has improved off the court this year?
I have seen and heard a number of comments about how Lacob has improved the team this year with the exception of the roster, but I haev yet to see a specific example of this. I would love for folks to chime in here and state specific examples of change that improve the fan experience.
For example, we have all begged for improved concessions at the arena. Has there been any change? From what I have heard, the food still sucks. Considering the level of ball being played and my lack of interest in the roster of players I am struggling to find a reason to attend a game in person this season.

For now it’s still basically hotdogs, nachos, and popcorn, but they’re trying like the dickens to get Crazy Crab Wharf and Gilroy Garlic Fries…
There will be no extra point!
No no
the food has improved
Still costs about 4 times the amount it should, but that’s american sporting events in general.
Went to a football game in italy last year. Still gets me how beer is cheaper in the stadium than at a corner bar here.
I was waiting for someone to correct me on that. Alas, I haven’t been to the Oracle (or anywhere in the Bay Area) in almost two years. I hella miss it there…
There will be no extra point!

it’s more awesome than you remember

I will say, better food doesn’t mean great food by any means.
Just a few more options, that taste better.
Fancy sausage hot dogs. Microbrews.

What we need is an off the grid night at the arena where people can buy food at trucks outside before entrance.
I wonder how many people would mess with the food inside if they could load up outside first?

I don't even know how the food is at Oracle...
…because I refuse to buy it. Why would I pay $9 for a single beer when a whole six pack costs that much? Those pretzels taste like and feel like they’ve been recovered from the desert floor – they might as well be since they cost almost as much as a barrel of oil.
Every time I go to Oracle Arena, I drop at least $80, and that’s just walking in the door (two cheap seats and parking). I sure as hell am not going to be paying $9/beer to see a 2-6 team. Sorry, Joe and Peter, I’m just not ballin’ like I own a casino or I’m a movie producer. Spending $80 has to be a very conscious effort on my part. (I should add that I go to at least 20 games a year and have been doing so for at least 20 years. I used to have season tix but stopped doing that after the “We Believe” team was disbanded.)
That said, I was at Oracle on Xmas day (and will be there tomorrow for the Miami game). To be honest, I didn’t notice anything had really changed except for maybe a few ads about BIG THINGS here and there. But I confess I wasn’t really that concerned with the accoutrements. (I had already spent the entire previous week trying to convince my friends and family that signing Kwame Brown was somehow not a bad idea and that CP3 to the Clips was grossly overrated.) I was more concerned about having to defend my Warriors once again to my LA friends and family since (I admit) I didn’t think the Warriors would win the game.
They could eliminate everything but the seats as far as I’m concerned. If they put a winning team on the court, I’d gladly pay $100 for a nose-bleeder seat made out of balsa wood. All they’d need would be vending machines scattered around the place.

I like that attitude, I too hate to spend money on over priced beer. If they gave me a bottle of Pliny the elder for the $9 I’d feel a bit better. I’ve never understood the need for fancy food or fancy accoutrement’s for the two hours you are watching the best basketball players on earth. Seems like a distraction to me?

Beer bargains
I sincerely doubt Oracle will ever get Pliny. It’s difficult enough to find outside of a sporting arena..
However, there is something to be said about the arena trying to up the concessions stands as others have pointed it. If they want my business, like you, they need to up their beer game. Better beers at better prices—simple requests if you ask me. Any brewery would be jacked to get their stuff on tap for Oracle events. Start simple with some Sierra Nevada or even local with some Drake’s.
Sierra is available!!
you gotta look for it (available near the bottom of one of the escalators, and right in front of the section where the live band is (I forget the section number)
that’s my drink at Dubs games, they sell 22’s for like 20 bucks, but then I’m set for the game (not including pre-game parking lot beer(s))

I think they have Sierra on tap up in Club 200
right when you get to the top of the escalator, look over your left shoulder in front of the small apparell stand. There is a free standing cart with some beer. I usually walk past it now but they used to have Sierra on tap I think. It might still be there.

Free wifi haha
I disagree that the roster did not improve. I think our roster is a lot better and deeper than last year’s. It might not be what you want it to be exactly, but it has definitely improved.
Supposedly the scoreboard is supposed to be upgraded, but I haven’t seen any changes to that yet. The food is just ok…nowhere near the level of quality and variety compared to Giants games. Beer is expensive, but that’s how much it costs at any sporting event (not saying I’m happy to pay it though).
What roster moves did they make? It was a lot of lateral moves at best. We don’t have anyone who can score off the bench yet. I don’t think anything has definitely happened and I don’t think the roster is a lot better or a lot deeper. The most notable acquisition was Kwame Brown, who helps, but is not a huge acquisition.
I heard he doesn't like music.

Well, I still don’t think our team is very good, but still “a lot” better than last year, and I only say that because I didn’t think much of the team last year, other than our starters. I really shouldn’t have said “a lot” better earlier, because now that I look it over, I sounded like I think the team is very good now. As for our current roster, I like that we can count on many of our bench guys to contribute in a positive way right away, whereas before I didn’t see much help from guys like Bell, Lin, Amundson, and Radman.
Our big man situation is better this year than last year.
Rush is an upgrade.
However, right now Klay-for-Reggie has been a major downgrade.
unless you consider that Reggie hasn't played yet this year due to injury
so, Klay has been way more valuable so far this season

Nate has been a better addition than I anticipated, but Klay has been a nonfactor so far.
I am willing to chalk up his suckage to rookie learning curve, but if it doesnt start to pay off a bit after the all star weekend, he is in danger of being a bust. He cant come back next year and keep missing shots.
Maybe he needs some tattoos

Haha, he just needs to smile like he’s enjoying the game.
Klank might be a non factor but he’s showing some positive things that I didn’t expect like passing and court awareness. I wanted to go with Burks due to hisathleticismm but maybe Klay will be okay?

meanwhile, kawhi appears to be starting for the spurs
It really don’t matter what they do now it matters what they are in 2 or 3 years. Starting can be just due to team circumstances.

kawhi is possibly starting for the spurs.
klay is having trouble earning minutes for the warriors .
not only is kawhi currently the better player, he has the much higher upside as well

i'd rather have kawhi now than klay where i think he will be in 2-3 years
and kawhi has much more potential to improve than klay does

post-game fireworks?
it was a little weird, but kinda awesome….wouldn’t really point to it as significantly improving my fan experience – but it doesn’t hurt, and it is something
I like the Facebook check-in for a discount or post-game Q&A too, those are fun…I got a pretty sweet black “The City” shirt for like 5 bucks last year (at the Celtics game I think)
Also, I’ve only been to one game this year, but they passed the game ball down through the crowd…that was pretty neat

They locked us out! I’m not attending any games this season.
When I take my sons to a game, it usually costs well over 400 bucks. I’m going to spend the 1500-2000 dollars a season that I usually spend on NBA games and spend it on other things. The league made it very clear that I don’t matter to them this season, so I’ll just hold on to my money.
Other businesses work really hard to hold on to their clients. NBA owners, on the other hand, publicly say things like we’re “not real fans” (Joe Lacob).
Don’t give them your money. They don’t deserve it.

Now I am really disappointed
The new owners have done nothing substantial with the roster and they have done absolutely nothing to improve the fan experience off the court.
I cant imagine any circumstances where I will attend a game in person this year.
I might take the money I would spend going to games and just buy a much nicer TV.
