Warriors vs. Nuggets: Postgame Interviews (11/29/12) by Warriors
Mark Jackson
On if He Thought the Final Shot Counted:
“I was very confident that it didn’t count, but I didn’t know what the results were going to be. At the end of the day, I’m thankful we’re at a time where we review it – we review it. Great camera work.”

On Closing Out the Nuggets for the First Time This Season:
“Extremely proud of my guys. That’s a very good basketball team and a well coached basketball team. We fully understood that it wasn’t going to be easy. They battle, compete, go on spurts and put pressure on you defensively. We were down 16 points and we found a way to win the ballgame; in spite of making mistakes, turnovers and mishaps defensively. I can preach all I want to them, but the way we are going to get is through experience. We are going to have to go through nights like this, and the last two times we faced them, to learn how to close it out. I’m extremely proud of this group.”

On Utilization of a Smaller Lineup Against the Nuggets:
“I thought about using it early on in the first half. (Andris) Biedrins was playing well for us as far as rebounding and having another big in there. In the second half, I just decided to sub Draymond (Green) in so we were able to switch on pick-and-rolls. It made a difference. This was a team where you have to give them something. We did a great job of gang rebounding. We out rebounded the best rebounding team in the business.”

On if They Were Running Specific Plays for Jarrett Jack:
“It’s a combination. There were some sets where we got quality looks with the ball in Steph’s (Stephen Curry) hands and then other times where (Jarrett) Jack runs it because Steph’s (Stephen Curry) and Klay’s (Klay Thompson) ability to come off screens. (Jarrett) Jack can then handle the ball with four legitimate offensive weapons on the floor. It gives us great versatility. He knows how to play. He’s not going to finish every game, but when he’s playing like that and we are creating problems he’s going to be in there. I have no hesitation putting him in the game down the stretch. He played huge for us tonight.”
Interesting Tweets
(after the game)
gswscribe: Toronto Raptors released Dominic McGuire. What are the chances the Warriors pick their old friend? I'm told they...
are pretty slim. Since the Warriors are at 15 players on the roster, it would require cutting someone. Sources tell me Golden State isn't ready to get rid of Kent Bazemore, the likely player to be waived. Plus, swapping McGuire for Bazemore is adding salary to a team already over the tax. The Warriors probably are not willing to do that since rookie forward Draymond Green basically brings what McGuire would. Don't bank on McGuire coming back to Golden State.
(after the game)
gswscribe: Warriors will be sending rookie guard Kent Bazemore to the Santa Cruz Warriors of the D-League. Announcement coming tomorrow
