Excitement to dejection to elation

So there I was faithfully checking the score of the Denver game on my iPhone while I was at work (Chef in a restaurant in Oregon).

I've been using Yahoo! Sports since I was in high school and it had never steered me wrong. Fourth quarter rolls around and I check halfway through to see that the Dubs have started to come back - BOOya. I keep track as I take out the trash and sweep the floors. As the table of 9 leaves the W's are winning and I'm flying around the restaurant frantic to get home to possibly catch the end of the game. Finally we get done and I'm waiting outside in the rain for my wonderful girlfriend to pick me up. She arrives and I quickly let her know that it is serious basketball time.

103-106 with nothing but the Yahoo play-by-play to go by, we enter a dead spot in wireless reception - all i see is 3 seconds left and Jarrett Jack having fouled somebody. I assume we won and begin to do a little happy wiggle in my seat - obviously Mark Jackson called for a foul and sent someone to the line with two shots. What feels like 5 mins later my i{hone refreshes again: 2 made free throws 105-106, alright we have the ball about 3 seconds left curry is going to hit a couple of free throws and we got this. I'm still wary of the warriors capacity to mess this up but I BELIEVE.

Suddenly disaster strikes: a final refresh and I see the score reads 108-106 Nuggets.

The pit in my stomach falls through the car and my head falls to the right into the side paneling. Ugh, turns to ARGH as I hear the game recap, careless with the ball, poor coaching, inability to finish games, no playoffs. I figure I should check the play-by-play at ESPN to see who hit the game winner. My actions are more muted and my spirit is broken as it has been many times before as a Warrior fan. The play by play hadn't caught up but I see that it had been A.I. and he had taken three free throws and missed the third. great our rebounding focused team our new strength and we couldn't finish it out. Finally I get to the bottom and I see final score 105-106. WHAT?!?!?!??!?!

I quickly switch back to Yahoo and still see 108-106 what the hell is going on. I hit refresh again and there it is - the magic numbers that made my head stop hurting and all the pain go away: a 106-105 Final. I don't know if a win has ever felt that good sooo - thank you, Yahoo! Sports, for screwing up and making it that much sweeter.

TLDR; Yahoo sports messed up final score to say nuggets won. I later found out It was wrong.
