Postgame Quotes and Stuff from warriors.com recap
On Carl Landry and Jarrett Jack:
"They played big for us. Obviously, as a former player, I understand playing against a team you used to be with. Jarrett Jack and Carl (Landry), you can tell their energy level this morning was different. They are always great – just different. My only concern was how hyped would they be. Both guys had outstanding nights. Jarrett Jack with his first double-double and he did a great job of getting in our sets down the stretch. Carl (Landry), been doing it all year long with post-up scoring, rebounding and being a presence in the paint for us. Just a big win for us."
On Draymond Green's game tonight:
"Just the other day one of our front office guys gave me a notebook on how to judge a players impact on a game. It had a list of our guys and Draymond’s (Green) was off the charts. There are certain guys where the stat sheet does not do him justice. The way he plays the game of basketball, understands it on both sides, the intangibles – he gives us a chance to win and he’s done that his entire life."
On David Lee:
"I thought about this pretty much in the third quarter about how David (Lee) and Steph (Curry) – I’ve been asking them to do a whole lot. I’m sure they are tired and weary, but those guys do a great job of having an impact on the game and still doing the things that we need them to do to win. I wish there was an opportunity for me to give them extended rest, but we are still trying to win ball games. David Lee, again, battling, rebounding, scoring and he made some free throws. That is what I expect from my leaders."
On the win:
"First of all, we’ve been playing well and to come back and play in front of our fans, we’ve been away from them for about two weeks now and getting a win, it definitely felt good. But me and (Jarrett) Jack played for them last year and getting a chance to play against friends but at the same time the enemy and getting a win, it definitely feels good."
On the Hornets:
"They can shoot; they can shoot threes. Everybody on the team can knock down threes. You can’t leave anybody open and at the same time they’ve got guys that can score down low: Anthony Davis, Ryan Anderson. So they are a good team in this league and they’ll be pretty good."
On winning mentality:
"Everybody in that locker room, we’re on the same mindset. We’re all about winning. It doesn’t matter where we’re at; if we’re at home, on the road, practice, film session, whatever it is we all have a winning mentality and every time we get an opportunity, that’s what we’re all about, winning."
On tomorrow's game against the Kings:
"Let’s do it; got a big one. Tomorrow is going to be a dog fight but at the same time those guys in the locker room are hungry and we know what they did to us the first time around, so we’ve got to go get one."
On this win after a long road trip:
"It was great coming back to a home stand for us. If you want to be a good team in this league you have to defend home court. We did the tough part by going on the road with a tough schedule for a long amount of time and we were successful. Now we have to come and do the same thing here."
On fan's reaction of the video montage of road trip:
"One, I think it was well deserved and I think they appreciated it. They appreciate us so much. I’m just glad that they show us love and support. I’ve been in place where the team and players were kind of taken for granted and wasn’t a staple for the city. This is a tremendous sports town. I’m just glad they’re receiving us."
On this being a trap game:
"One of the hardest games to play in the NBA is the first game back home after a road trip and getting back on west coast time. These aren’t excuses it’s just the fact of the matter, especially when we have a team who comes in and plays very hard and has the ability to hit a lot of three point shots. Record isn’t as good as it should be. It definitely had the possibility to be a letdown game but we avoided that at the end."
- That brow, that unibrow!
- Revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge, revenge. The last time we played them, Keith Smart 1.0's defense stuffed up Keith Smart 2.0's team in the 3rd qtr, and that was enough for us to lose.
