Monta Ellis have it all - Monta Ellis

Monta Ellis recently made news several nights ago that raised many eyebrows throughout the league and with fans.

If you haven't seen his comment on his game then here you go and have fun

I enjoy the fact that Ellis brushes off Dwyane Wade's 2x NBA championships and win totals as the only differences. Even though Wade's career averages are higher than Ellis' in most statistical categories, Ellis is correct at least in that their style of play is similar. Guards, who in their prime, attacked the rim either in the fast break or half court but still have an above average mid-range game. Wade's defense was also more solid because he has the strength more so than Ellis to match up with opposing 2-guards. Ellis often gambled for steals which made his defense seem worse than it actually was. Whether it was Wade finishing tough above the rim or Ellis knifing his way through the paint; both guards have the slashing ability and attack the paint mindset.

I'm going to ignore Wade's multiple All-Star appearances because like most Warriors fans will agree, Monta should have made the All-Star game several times already while being with the Warriors. He was robbed several times in the past; either his individual statistics weren't good enough or the team didn't have enough wins. Then, when Ellis' and the team accomplished both requirements to be considered an all-star; players like Kevin Love with a worst team record, LaMarcus Aldridge which was 50/50 or Manu Ginobili who played off the bench would make the All-Star team instead. Situations like this happened at least 3 years in a row which frustrated us fans and Golden State management.

After Wade won his first championship with future hall-of-famer Shaquille O'Neal, he had sealed his membership in the All-Star club and arguably began receiving preferential treatment from referees.

Every athlete has to have confidence in his game and putting aside the blank stare, the smirk and of course him talking to his-self in the third person, I kinda have to agree with Monta Ellis. I believe he could have chosen his words better, but I believe Ellis is a top 5 SG in the league and his game is comparable to that of D-Wade's. Now you can't just ignore the 2 championships because that is valuable experience in playing in deep playoff run situations and in the finals which is something Ellis isn't close to having. We saw what happened to James Harden last year in the finals, he was a no show. But still as a Monta Ellis fan and having watched him play many times; he definitely is a spectacular player to watch.
