Postgame Quotes and Stuff from warriors.com recap
On the game overall:
"Brooklyn is a very good basketball team, extremely well coached and they have great talent. For us, we take it one game at a time. This was a huge win. I’m so proud of my guys. Guys came in off of the bench, Carl Landry, Jarrett Jack, Draymond Green was huge and really gave us a spark. Stephen Curry is really showing the world how good he is. David Lee played a spectacular game. At the end of the day, that’s a different Nets team. They’ve added some pieces that makes them a dangerous team down the road no question. It’s going to be very interesting come playoff time in the Eastern Conference. I was happy my guys got it going, fought and competed, and we leave out of here with a victory."
On playing in Brooklyn for the first time:
"It’s a cool experience. It is a great atmosphere, great environment. Obviously, the borough has really surrounded around the new identity of the team and it definitely showed tonight; they have a serious home court advantage here, so it was a big win for us to come in and play the way we did. It was a good start to our road trip starting 2-0."
On not giving up the lead late in the game:
"We learned a lesson from Detroit the other day. We were up, I think 20, at one point in the fourth quarter and they cut it to three with less than a minute left. We still had to grind, it wasn’t easy getting stops, getting rebounds and 50/50 balls."
On David Lee on the boards:
"It is huge. We were getting beat on the glass the whole game and for him to come out and finish as strong as he did it was great for us. Especially when we had a six or seven-point lead and we kept that lead where it was."
On what it was like playing and being in Brooklyn:
"Unbelievable stadium. It is rare being a veteran in the league that you get to see a new venue, with very few going up. It was great, the fan support here is unbelievable, as you knew it would be, and I am happy we got out of here with a win."
On getting off to a good start and being a leader:
"It is huge. It is always fun when you can play well, but if the team is not winning it really ruins it and tonight is just another example of a good team win for us. We are off to a great start and we hope to continue that game-by-game."
(after the game)
Rusty_SFChron: Brandon Rush was in the GSW postgame lockerroom. Said he's in NYC strengthening muscles around knee, but no surgery date has been set.
- No interesting notes tonight.
- The Wizards played tonight on the road, so they had to travel too. We should have this win, unless we overestimate them and come out devoid of energy.
