Marcin Gortat Available?
I know we can all dream, but Marcin Gortat (who was backing up Dwight Howard) looks legit. Averaging 15 & 10 with a good contract (only about 6-7mil/year). I put together a trade machine taking back the bad contact of Josh Childress to even it out. I'd do this in a heart beat, but that probably means the Suns likely are not interested...
Trade: http://games.espn.go.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=7xvzy3x
Why the Warriors do this: Duh, for the big man and a little extra depth (Chris Wright will have to go...)
Why Phoenix does this: Monta will fit in for their running offense. Playing with Steve Nash will work for them and when Nash retires (he is 38) Monta can take over this team like the Warriors. Childress has a lot of contract left and could be an amnesty option for them. We can alleviate that issue for them. It would also mean rebuilding the team around Monta in a year or two.
Why Phoenix doesn't do this: Gortat is the most valuable player in the deal and there isn't a whole lot behind him at center (Lopez and Frye). This contract is a nice sweet spot for his production. A backcourt of Nash and Ellis is worse defensively than Curry and Ellis!

I just don’t see it happening, I think they know how good Gortat is over there.
Also, Grant Hill says they don’t need/want Monta
but yeah, if possible, I would do Ellis for Gortat, plus whatever

i doubt gortat is available unless they let nash go

Me: So who (from the 2011 draft class) compares with (Anthony) Davis?

This would be a move for their post-Nash future
They are very thin at guard and once Nash retires, they will be a joke.
Once Nash retires, why not start over?
Or trade him before he retires and get a pick. the warriors have tried to build with monta for so many years and can’t even make the playoffs. Just doing see why the sins would think they want monta on their roster when they’re rebuilding.
Think the best way to her value for monta is to trade him to a playoff team thats strong defensively and desperate for offense. like the bulls or bucks (when bogut is healthy).
Sorry for the confusing sentence, auto correct fail
Just doing see why the sins would think they want monta on their roster when they’re rebuilding. = seeing the warriors fail at rebuilding their roster with monta isn’t going to make other teams so confident they can build a winner with monta in their staying 5
I believe Aaron Brooks will be returning as a RFA after the Chinese season is over. I could be mistaken. The undersized scoring guard position may already be filled.

Gortat?
Not sure he’s all that. I recall times in the game last night where he got a rebound close to the rim and instead of powering it in he passed out and let us off the hook.

Here we are again.

Gortat would be good for dubs, especially with Lee
I am unclear on Suns plan – do they think that they are going to win with this team?
If I was Suns ownership I would trade Nash and Hill to a contender for youth and draft picks. We have youth, right?
Curry and Udoh for Nash and Gortat and first round draft pick?
yeah, crazy talk.
The Suns are my alternate team and I can tell you that they haven’t had a legitimate center for a good while. Especially during the D’antoni era, they would have died for one. Now that they have one that is mobile and good on the pick and roll, they are absolutely in love with him. He is basically their building block for the future and they won’t let him go unless there is a better center to replace him.
