Udoh starting could be the best thing for Biedrins

I just finished reading most of Kawakami's post about Udoh and his effectiveness, and it got me thinking. It seems pretty obvious that MJack is trying to keep Biedrins confidence up as a starting center by continuing to start him even though he is struggling. However, Udoh starting could possibly be the only thing that could revive Biedrins' career while helping the Dubs at the same time.

Star-divide

Here's why this is good for Biedrins:
  • Rolling with the second unit, which is all about energy, puts him in his comfort zone of hustle and rebounding. We have plenty of bench scorers.
  • He gets to play against the scrubbier centers on opponents' teams, which will hopefully raise his confidence level. After all, this is mostly what's wrong with him.
  • He won't have any pressures of the starting unit, which include keeping a lead, not blowing a lead, and occasionally turning away from opponents to call for the ball.
  • He'll keep his restricted minutes, which means he can recover from his Latvian clubbin' summer. My guess is, he'll be in game shape once his faux tan wears off.

Here's why benching "Dre" is good for the Dubs:

  • Biedrins sucks right now.
  • Udoh is playing much better with the starting unit.
  • Did I really need any bullet points after the first one?

Udoh Over Beans…nuff said…

I totally agree

Andris would be a much better fit with the second unit, and give it better size. Honestly I think the same approach should be taken with Dorell Wright, who has also struggled the whole season as a starter.

Captain Jack and Barron!!!

They held everyone accountable on the Warriors. They were strong leaders and demanded the best from every player on the floor. No body demands that currently on the Warriors. Some 1, should write an article about this. How Beans was scared of Jackson calling him out.
Some 1 here posted a link of Jackson telling Kwame, to shut the F, up in Charollete.
No one on the Warriors is a leader.

barron was not a leader :P

I beg your pardon.

He was the point gurad. Not sure if you played basketball or not. But QB is a leader and the point guard is your leader in most cases.
Thats why Romom sucks for the Cowboys, scared to get in Wide Receivers face.

baron was a pg

barron was a center that recorded 5 fouls in 9 minutes before we released him.

beans needs to be waived/cut/terminated/fired/released

he hinders this team. udoh may not be dwight howard but it is hard to say that beans will even be decent in the d-league.

Agreed.

It’s time to cut our losses. We’re trying desperately to get the old Beans back at the expense of… drum roll please…. UDOH. Yeah, one game sample size, but I don’t think it’s a coincidence that Udoh tore it up when Beans was gone.

You can play Udoh without cutting Biedrins.

Udoh actually played like a #6 pick last night!

I had a wet dream later that Udoh kept on playing this way consistantly.

After a couple of years of worrying about Bean’s fragile confidence I have officially given up on the mystery of his problem….although I am sure that he would become a triple double beast in a Magic uniform when his confidence is boosted after they traded us Howard for him..;-p

And since he has been sucking even worse, he has been getting publicly humiliated.

And his performance problem carried over to the bedroom because of him sucking and now his wife isn’t . Quadruple whammy. Or I should say no more whammy for him.

Right now I could care less about what could or could not "Be the best thing for Biedrins"

I just care what’s best for the club and him not being on the roster fits the bill.

let’s see if Beans comes out playing with fire…for more than the first 8 minutes

if seeing your backup thrive in your absence doesn’t do it, Beans is too far gone to reach anyways

by highflya on Feb 21, 2012 11:14 PM PST reply actions

Just give up on Biedrins already. If he turns things around, great, but at this point, we’ve given him every opportunity, and he hasn’t taken it. His play has regressed, shows no signs of coming back, and we should treat him as if this is the player he is and will be going forward.

but benching him would mean the front office is admitting they're wrong

We all know they're wrong!

We think they’re idiots, and the fans’ opinion of them (to say nothing of what potential trade partners think) drops every day they keep that cancer on the roster… holding onto the guy only makes their situation worse! (both basketball and PR-wise)

yea-up

we aren’t going to fool anyone with Beans averaging one shot per game in 20+ minutes of game time

he’s still good for rebounds, a touch of D, and 6 fouls (4 of which are him jumping up with his arms in the air)

Then they'll simply be digging themselves into a deeper hole.

Their honeymoon period’s over, and I expect them to have run off the majority of the team’s fans by the end of next season. It’s going to be a bit hard to earn a profit then.
