The Curry Dilemma

Mixed feelings about the trade. Love that we finally have a center - worried we gave up too much.

Lots of people recognized that the big pay off may be a potential draft pick if we tank - obviously if this happens we will be better in the long run. The idea of getting Harrison Barnes or Andre Drummond makes this feel a lot better.

I should preface my next question by saying I do not think players or coaches ever tank - not in their DNA.

But should we shut Curry down for the rest of the season?

Easy answer is yes, anything to help us get a possible star in the trade. Plus, the rest can only help him be better healed for next season.

However, Curry clearly does not want to get a rep as being an injury hazard, especially with his free agency coming up down the road. My concern is that if we shut him down he will be upset and be far less likely to resign with us for the long term. I am a big Curry fan and think that without Monta and with a legit center he will flourish - hate to see this happen and then he splits town because we benched him when it was not necessary to do so.

Curry, Klay, Jackson (or Rush), Lee and Bogut is a solid lineup and we'd have a solid bench

the draft picks this year, Drummond, Barnes, Perry Jones III, lots of goodies would help the dubs.

But Curry is now our floor leader - and with Monta gone he may even play like one. And if he blossoms, I sure would hate to see him split town.
