While I do think we have the best fans in the NBA, and I agree every paying customer has the right to voice their opinion, I also feel there is an appropriate time and place for it. Unfortunately tonight the Warriors fans showed the worst of what NBA fans can be.
Tonight was supposed to be a night to honor and praise one of the greatest Warriors of all time. A night to retire the jersey of a team legend. However many people chose to use it as a venue to display their displeasure with ownership for it's trading of Monta Ellis. Whether or not you agree or disagree with the trade is 100% irrelevant, it is simply a poor reflection on a great fan base to display such indecency on a night for such a great Warrior.
Hopefully those that appreciate what Mullin was and meant to the team still were able to appreciate and enjoy the celebration for him. It's unfortunate that many loud and uninformed fans could not but aside their displeasure with one man while trying to honor another. I was embarrassed and ashamed to be a season ticket holder tonight, this display was far worse than the teams 17 win 2000-01 season.
