Warriors vs. Nuggets: Postgame Interviews (4/7/12) by GoldenStateWarriors
Mark Jackson
On The Balanced Scoring:
"We did a great job of sharing the basketball, playing at our pace, running when the opportunity was there and then we executed on offense. More importantly we defended. That's a tough team to defend, but we did the job across the board. On the offensive end, guys came up big especially our bench."
On Preventing Denver From An Extended Scoring Run:
"We defended. We did a good job of defending, limiting their second chance opportunities, we took care of the basketball and forced them to defend. When you do those things you put yourself in position to win and you eliminate runs by the opposition."
On Jeremy Tyler:
"He's playing very well. With any rookie you are going to have mistakes, but he's competing. One thing, from day one, he was a guy that competed. Rebounding the basketball, he's aggressive offensively and he's arguably our best guy at setting screens. Playing very well right now. He's putting himself in position to finish up strong and looking forward to staying in the lab and getting even better."
On Beating A Potential Playoff Team In The Denver Nuggets:
"They [Nuggets] do have a lot to play for. They have an excellent coach, veterans, and coming off the last time we played them they had every right to come in here with a chip - we executed. It's very satisfying knowing that the team that came in with something to play for, with payback on their mind, and we found a way to put together 48 minutes of basketball. Just a great team effort, total team effort. When you think about Arron Affalo, 13 early points, he's a guy that can get hot and stay hot - we made the adjustments. We contained Ty Lawson who does an outstanding job of being the head of that team offensively and creating stuff. Overall just a total team effort tonight."
David Lee
On Continuing To Compete:
"I've been saying we are going to continue to play hard until the final game is over. We have a team that gets along well, a team that has great chemistry and we are going to continue to scrap. We are under-manned right now, we love to going out there and competing and we are going to continue to do that until the last game."
On Team's Balanced Scoring:
"They were helping out a lot on me especially in the second half. I don't think I attempted a shot in the third quarter. Guys picked it up for me. Klay (Thompson) hit some shots, (Brandon) Rush hit some shots and I think Dom (Dominic McGuire) played an unbelievable game tonight on both ends like usual. It was an all-around game tonight and I was really really happy with the way the team played."
Charles Jenkins
On The Team's Potential:
"Even though we lost a couple of games we didn't get blown out, we always come out and compete as professionals. We are definitely getting better as the year progresses."
On Stopping Denver's Run:
"Being in the NBA this is going to happen, teams are going to go on a run, you are not going to shut teams out. They are paid professionals who do this night in and night out. We knew the run was coming and tried to get stops on the defensive end to prevent them from taking the lead back."
On The Team's Bench Play:
"One of the keys today was to share the basketball. When we got stops on the defensive end we were able to run and get easy baskets. That's something we did tonight early with D (Dorell) Wright getting a couple of steals and early dunks. We were getting in the lane and sharing the basketball."
Notes
- No interesting notes to add tonight.
What's next?
- The first time we played the Nuggets, we had a block party. Tonight, we blew them out again. Take a wild guess what will happen to our tank on Monday.
