Basketball IQ: He knows how to score and will put the ball in the basket like it’s his job, because it essentially is. Very confident in his abilities and is fearless attacking the basket. However, he needs the ball in his hands to leave his mark in the game because he can’t do much of anything else at an NBA level without it. Doesn’t cut to the basket or try to get open often, rather hovers around the 3-point arc and waits for the ball to come to him. Has an edge of toughness about him and his demeanor, but also some attitude. Had a super efficient sophomore year with an impressive 26.3 PER and showed his potential playing just a little over half of each game. Expressive and emotional on the floor who can fire up his team or drape his head if things aren’t going well, but he’s a competitor. Had issues with being in shape and the Syracuse coaching staff, which will raise questions about his character, but seemed to have put those differences behind him as a sophomore. In the flow of a game, he can be an explosive scorer who will put up points in spurts.
