Why the dubs do it? Simple, they get Magette's expiring contract that will be an asset this season at the trade deadline if we are looking to add for a playoff run. DWright is the odd man out at the 3, and we would love to get rid of Jefferson and Biedrins contracts. Who knows maybe we could get some ok production from Charle V.... Magette and Daye expire this year Charlie V next year, Save money.
Why the Pistpns do it? They get rid of their clubhouse cancers Charlie V, and Daye. The only two bigs on their team are Monroe and Drummond who need some veteran help (Biedrins). Dorell and RJ are good 3 point shooters to spread the floor for Stuckey and Knight to pass to/use to clear up space to drive. Get a former all-star that has been to 2 NBA finals for some leadership. Get a second round pick.
If the Dubs had an expiring this year and next year of close to 10 mill those would both be assets at the trade deadline each year. As it stands they aren't assets because neither are expiring this year, and I doubt we could use 2 expiring contracts at the same trade deadline. So I think it is imperative we make this trade or one similar so if we are in position to make a trade at the deadline to improve our team for a playoff run, we can do it with having an expiring asset. Seems like this might be enough to get it done. Is it worth it??
