I came across this great article about Draymond Green and what he brings to the Warriors as the 35th overall pick. The article states that it was maybe better for "Day Day" to have been selected in the second round as he may thrive without all this pressure of being a first-rounder. The article says that, "...[H]e's the type of player who thrives when it's all on the line. It would be interesting to see statisticians come up with a "willpower" metric. Green would have undoubtedly led the NCAA in that category as a senior."
I'm excited to see how he performs in Summer League. I'm led to believe that he has all the necessary tools to be a 'dirty-work' player to defend that shot or get that rebound that ultimately changes the momentum of the game.
I've been an NBA fan since i was 10, but exceptionally new to NCAA basketball and have never seen him play, except for highlights. Anyone with more knowledge than me care to share their insight about Green's 'willpower'?
