It’s about being smart with my ankle. There’s no point in trying to get ready for October 1st, when another week could significantly help. I’m trying to get ready for camp, but my main goal is for the first game of the season to be 110 percent.
Andrew Bogut appears to be iffy for the start of training camp. How iffy he is for the season opener of course remains to be seen. Clearly, without a healthy Bogut in the fold, much of the optimism that has surrounded the team this offseason dissipates rather quickly. As of now, there really is no Plan B for center, unless you like the idea of starting (a) Biedrins, (b) the 30th pick in the draft, or (c) a defensively horrific pair of 6'-8" power forwards in Lee + Landry. Is it time to kick the tires on Birdman Andersen, at least as a stopgap?
