How might the Warriors get better?

While I'm thrilled with the Warriors progress I'm a realist. This team needs more talent and some salary flexibility to get better. I don't see keeping Jack or Landry next season. If everyone under contract returns our payroll would creeps from $71 to $75 mil. Jack has no contract next season. Landry will opt out of his $4 mil for a better payday but that money will not be enough to keep Jack either. Jenkins will have no contract unless he re-signs at the minimum. While potentially offset by the return of Rush that puts serious holes in next year's roster. Bogut will be in his contract year. Healthy or not we may need to pay more to keep him. To clear salary Jefferson and Biedrins need to go. No one will likely take on their contracts this year without some incentive since their deals don't expire until after next season.

My only conclusion is that we will have to dangle one or more of our core to sweeten the pot. I define our core as Curry, Thompson, Barnes, Lee and Bogut. I see Curry and Bogut as untouchable. Management sees one our cornerstone and the other our true big. Thompson, Barnes and Lee are the most expendable. Lee's contract size might make a Jefferson/Biedrins bundle too much to ask. That makes Thompson and Barnes rookie contracts more marketable. I think moving Barnes after the tank would cause fan backlash. After losing Monta, a Thompson trade could anger fans too unless Bogut pans out.

Warrior objectives should be to get something worthy to plug into the lineup immediately plus some expiring contract to create cap space for extending Bogut and replace/resign lost depth. So who has what we want/need? Who will exchange it for what we might offer? Remember it has to make sense to the other team. For instance Memphis is not going to take Barnes and Jefferson/Biedrins for Gay since they want to shed salary this season, not next. Cap experts can also enlighten me. Are Jack and Landry eligible to be used in deals in the season we sign them? One is expiring and the other is a player option.

Tell me what you think. What deals might be worth it for both sides that improves our roster and/or frees money to do so?
