I've never posted here but always scour. Trade speculation is always a good time when the news dries up, if mildly possible. That said, no matter how unlikely, I am going to propose something I am not entirely sure about myself.
None of us are GMs (although former PR heads may still be trolling), but pretend you are either Myers (lacob) or Mitch and tell me what you think.
Assuming Dwight hates Kobe, they don't move Pau and they may want to cover their ass and trade him in lieu of losing him outright...
Warriors send Bogut (was a beast, could be again?), Landry (sixth man of the year/expiring) and Barnes to LA for Howard.
This works in the trade machine. Does it work for either side?
The thought is that the bold Warriors might want to make a culture changing splash and go for it this year. The fear of losing him is great, but frankly, they don't have Bogut playing, won't be able to sign Landry and Barnes has yet to prove a difference maker. Assuming Klay and Jefferson can absorb the hit at the 3 and Bogut isn't playing, we are really talking Dwight for Carl. No brainer. If they went for a title run with this, he very well may stay. If he leaves, we have a massive expired contract and cap room.
No way the Lakers even consider unless Bogut is back and looks solid before the deadline. Let's say that happens. Do you do it if you're LA and the aforementioned assumptions are correct? And if you're GS? And if we do, do we have a shot at the Finals?
Let's discuss. Rip me apart or give me a high five, either way, we have 7+ hours to kill before Miami. Legggoooo
