On Tonight's Game:
“I thought we played well. It was a tough stretch down the fourth quarter. Disappointing way to end it but overall the starters got minutes. This is a tough loss but I thought it was a good way to get the minutes in and establish a rhythm.”
On Playing a Physical Game:
“We’re a different basketball team than in the past but the disappointing part is when you need a rebound or you need a stop we didn’t come up with it. The good teams, the great teams, the teams that are playing in June you got to come up with that play. The Spurs lost a championship because of their inability to get a rebound when it mattered.”
On Being Jet-Lagged:
“We’re a no-excuse basketball team. At the end of the day you got to find a way to make plays and we didn’t. I wouldn’t point a finger to jet-lag – we just didn’t make the play.”
On the End of the Game:
“I just think we could have done a better job in the last couple minutes of the game. It’s just making sure we get our man off the boards and have our guys come in and try to steal some rebounds. They’re a pretty good offensive rebounding team but there is no excuse to give up two straight offensive rebounds into a third attempt which was a wide-open three. Like I said I don’t think that cost us the game because I really believe in the third quarter we should have pushed that lead out and finished the game off after those first three.”
On Being Jet-Lagged:
“I think our energy was ok. I think it was more just bad plays from time-to-time. Made a couple of silly decisions in that third quarter where they cut the lead from 17 to four. We can’t use the China trip as an excuse.”
(after the game)
gswscribe: Kings win, 91-90. The only handshake between the teams was DeMarcus Cousins walking over to Mark Jackson
Mospeights16: Tough lost tonight only good thing come out this game is its preseason still!!! We will be better tomorrow tho !!!
fezzyfel: As a team we got better today. Learning from mistakes. Good thing it's preseason
- Note: Ouch.
- The Warriors have to answer for this loss to 20,000 fans tomorrow when we host the Blazers. It'll be a good test of back-to-back games before the season really starts.
