Mark Jackson
On tonight's game:
“Right now the turnovers are hurting us and we are not playing 48 minutes with a sense of urgency. That’s the disappointing part. Right now, I would say it’s not a slow start; we’re not playing with a sense of urgency. We came in talking about we had to be the hardest working team because this team plays extremely hard and they’re talented, and we did not do that. I’m disappointed and we’ve got to find answers, individually and collectively. I’m finding it that the guys in the suits and ties want it more than the guys in uniform. It’s just disappointing right now. We’re going to be fine but it’s disappointing to lose once again in the same fashion we lost. We’re going to get it right but you have to call it what it is. If you’re going to talk about how great they are individually and collectively then certainly when they’re bad they’ve got to be able to take it, own it and let’s get better. We’ve got to turn this thing around; it’s as simple as that. We’ve been watching the same movie every night, and it gets old.”
Stephen Curry
On tonight's game:
“We care; we’re trying to turn it around and put forth the effort and get us out of these substandard performances for us. We’ve got to change it, we’ve got to go out and find ways to play better. They’re putting together good game plans and we’re just not executing them right now. I know every guy in this locker room cares about us being successful and doing whatever it takes. I’ll never question that. Inopportune turnovers and when you have to exert so much energy to get back in the game it’s going to catch up to you. We have to start out games better. It’s tough to focus on that part of our game every single night and the same results happen. We’re a good team, we were able to come back and whether we’re at home or on the road, we were able to make it a ball game but, like I said if every night you are exerting so much energy and making so many plays to get back in the game, more times than not you aren’t going to be able to jump that hurdle.”
David Lee
On tonight's game:
“It’s tough being out there, it’s tough watching, it’s tough from all sides. We had stretches tonight where we played well but there was just too many times tonight giving up easy transition hoops and extra effort plays and it’s been kind of an inconsistent thing for us all year long and it’s just surprising because it was something we were on the right side of last year. We can’t worry about the past, we’ve just got to keep fighting, we’ve got to find a way to put together better stretches and more consistent stretches and play better ball.”
Notes
- We suck.
What's next?
- Here's a sign of how sad we've become: The Pelicans are 1/2 game behind us in the standings. Our next game with them on Tuesday is a must win if we don't want to fall further behind in the standings.
