Being bored in class leads one to stir up some pretty crazy ideas and experiments. Just out of curiosity I'm wondering how many of you out there would do the following trade:
Warriors receive: Brandon Bass, Avery Bradley, Iman Shumpert, Ronnie Brewer
Celtics receive: Jarrett Jack, Carl Landry, Marcus Camby
Knicks receive: jason terry, festus ezeli, draymond green
Not saying I would even do this trade. Just an interesting proposal. I'm sure many of you will be quick to call me an idiot, which is somewhat granted in this scenario. Just wondering how many of you actually put a premium on defense because this trade definitely helps the Dubs in that regard. Bradley, Shumpert, and Brewer are all excellent defenders and would make our second unit tough to score on. Scoring ourselves might be an issue, but throwing Klay in the second unit might work as he's shown he can carry the scoring load like he did in Cleveland with practically all reserves. Or even thrown Barnes in there to get him more looks. Yes, we give up leadership, chemistry, and experience, but I'm not convinced this group can get a championship anyway. Not to mention it's going to be very hard to bring back Landry and Jack next year with our salary situation anyway. In my opinion Bass will do an adequate job of replacing Landry's production off the bench too.
I think this is a no brainer for the Celtics. Not sure if the Knicks would bite even though the trade machine says it would give them an extra win. Even if it doesn't necessarily work out for the Warriors, it definitely gives us a lot of young trade chips to go after a legit superstar. Well, give me your thoughts and try to refrain from jumping on me for my stupidity. Just curious on everyone's opinions. It obviously will never happen.
