Fist off, forgive me for not posting this in the FanShot section, but since it is not a pic, video, link, list or quote it doesn't seem to belong there.

Since the format change of the site, many members have commented on the noticeable decline of [quality] contributions by members to fanposts/fanshots. I was thinking that a way to both encourage the quality and quantity of such contributions could be in the form of a annual or bi-annual "GSoM Member and Editor's Choice Awards", (I was thinking one at the end of the season/playoffs, and a more hilarious version for the off-season).

It would be rewarding to the members to have a "most rec'd" award for each post, shot and comment. It would also give members a chance to reflect on what was going on with the team, the league, and the member's varying opinions at that time. Also, it would be fun to have editor's choice awards to the 5-10 members who contribute the most and an award to the most valuable member and editor.

I will admit that I do not know how easy it is for the admins to track this kind of information. But creating a venue which inspires member participation. as well as an actual sense of a GSoM community is too good to turn down in my opinion. I was going to just email this idea to the mods, but I thought posting it here would give members the ability to approve, disprove, or supplement the concept.
