For a good while now, I've been pondering on the idea of getting a live chat going for GSOM members to talk freely rather than posting a ton of comments. As much as I love the live game threads and participate in them, I feel like the comments threads are always treated as game-chat or play by play anyways, so creating a chat system might enhance member participation and make for a good platform for on-the-fly game analysis.

This is an idea I haven't seen implemented on any of the rival sbnation team blogs (in basketball, nfl, or mlb); however, I assume it's been thought of. I assume that there probably isn't a way to implement it directly onto the sbnation site so I am proposing to have something like this hosted on a different site and available to members of GSOM. Another goal for this kind of system would be accessibility of admins to members in real time conversation and the development of a stronger culture to boost morale (given this long stretch of dreary dubs loses.)

If anyone is interested in an idea like this or may have information as to why it hasn't been implemented yet feel free to post comments. Again, this is purely a proposal and in no way shape or form even a tangible system yet.
