Ranking Author Rank Comment Marc Stein 8 (-3) We can only echo what Mark Jackson said: It's an undeniable disappointment for a team that's billed as much-improved defensively to have lost games in which it scored 121, 120 and 116 points. The Warriors are 5-10 against the rest of the West's top eight and just 3-5 since their 10-game winning streak. Marc Spears 8 (-2) It's no secret the Clippers and the Warriors don't care for each other. They meet again in a must-watch game Thursday in Oakland, Calif.
CBS Sports Matt Moore 6 (-2) They make things harder for themselves than it seems sometimes, but the overall core is strong. One of only three teams with a sub-100 points allowed per 100 possessions and a 104-per-100-possessions-plus offensive mark.
Pro Basketball Talk Kurt Helin 5 (+2) Stephen Curry deserves to be an All-Star starter and he showed it with 38 points and the dagger to beat Portland. That made up for the loss to Indiana earlier in the week that showed Golden State the benchmark for contending. Fun game against the Clippers coming up this week. John Schuhmann 7 (-) The Warriors have had the fifth best defense in the league ... but not in the first quarter. In fact, they've had the league's second worst first-quarter defense since Christmas, allowing nine of their 16 opponents to score 30 points or more in the first 12 minutes. After doing that in four of their previous five games, they held the Blazers in check on Sunday and came away with a much-needed win. David Aldridge New Rankings Not Yet Posted
SB Nation Jason Patt 7 (-) Stephen Curry is having himself one heck of a season, and he finds himself in the middle of a brilliant stretch. Curry was especially superb in a win over the Blazers on Sunday, notching 38 points, eight assists and seven rebounds:
Sheridan Hoops Andrew Kamenetsky 9 (-2) A home loss on three days rest to Minnesota is why some folks question whether the Dubs are a truly elite team. Steph CurryÕs wholly deserving All-Star starting nod is why the Dubs can nonetheless never be taken lightly. Matt Dollinger 11 (-5) The Warriors snapped a three-game home losing streak against Portland behind their defense and Stephen Curry, who recorded his 12th 30-point performance of the season. Golden State will play six of its final eight games before the All-Star break at Oracle Arena.
