The Warriors "bigs" can't really guard Griffin. Lee has been destroyed these past two games by Griffin (15-for-25 from the field?!) and no one else really has an answer. WAIT! Griffin's an atrocious free-throw shooter! (He shot worse than DeAndre Jordan in Game 3. That's saying something.) A career 62.4% FT shooter who shot 2-for-9 from the stripe in Game 3, we could easily nullify his inside play by sending him to the line OVER AND OVER. That would:
1. Stall the Clippers' offensive momentum b/c possession after possession are being bricked at the FT line
2. Make Griffin less confident since he is missing all these FTs
3. Make ORACLE louder since the Warriors just have to execute offensively
4. Force Rivers to bench Griffin since he's throwing away possession after possession at the free-throw line.
That would make the Warriors' collective lives on the court MUCH EASIER since only Chris Paul is on the court. Also, if one person fouls out, simply throw in another bench player who would not see PT normally with their only job being to send Griffin to the free throw line. If everyone fouls out, rules dictate that we place someone back in at the expense of a technical foul. Griffin still has to shoot two; a better FT shooter would shoot the technical foul shot, and the Warriors would regain possession as the technical foul FT is shot first. Instead of giving up 2 or 3 points per possession, they only give up one. Odds are Rivers will have Griffin out of the game before that scenario because he's just bricking FT after FT.
NOTE: REBOUND THE MISSED FREE-THROWS. If DeAndre Jordan gets them, the scheme is wasted, although Hack-a-Jordan would work equally well as he is also an atrocious FT shooter.
This actually would give us a legitimate shot at winning the series since LAC is basically running their entire offense through Griffin and his inside play.
