Kevin Love trade: Cavs confident, Klay Thompson still the x-factor

Minnesota is also reportedly seeking non-guaranteed contracts from Cleveland that would offer the Wolves cap relief... There's also the chance Minnesota would prefer more established players than Wiggins and Bennett. If Golden State were to put Klay Thompson back on the table, it would likely make the Wolves think long and hard about accepting the deal. Chicago can also offer a package of veterans that would include Taj Gibson and Jimmy Butler...If Cleveland if offering Wiggins and Bennett, the package is likely too good for the Wolves to pass up.

From "Cavaliers 'confident' they'll land Kevin Love in trade involving Andrew Wiggins" via Ricky O'Donnell of SB Nation NBA.

And Woj has more on the story, which includes the Denver Nuggets jumping into the mix as a suitor for Love.

The Warriors are reportedly insistent on acquiring Kevin Love without giving up Klay Thompson, whose rising market value almost guarantees having to pay him a max contract. But is Thompson worth keeping at that cost, especially if the "cost" includes Kevin Love?

Warriors split about trading Klay Thompson for Kevin Love

After it appeared that the Warriors were prepared to part with Thompson in a deal to land Minnesota's Love, sources told ESPN.com that Hall of Fame consultant Jerry West and new Warriors coach Steve Kerr have voiced opposition to surrendering both Thompson and a future first-round pick to the Timberwolves along with former All-Star forward David Lee for Love and Wolves guard Kevin Martin.

Warriors GM Myers won't comment on Kevin Love

Warriors general manager Bob Myers won't comment on specific trade rumors. But while there is chatter regarding a possible deal for star Minnesota forward Kevin Love, he did speak to the chances of a big trade. "I think probably right now unlikely. It's the best I can do for you. But I will say this: If you asked me last year at this time would we be in a situation to grab an (Andre) Iguodala, I would have said the same thing. "Right now, I think it's unlikely. Right now, today."

Klay's father: 'I'm going to have to talk him down' if traded

Don't get me wrong, I'm just as excited as the next Warriors fan about the possibility of acquiring Kevin Love this summer. However, this article really depressed me. I've grown to really like Klay Thompson and, if he is traded, he definitely will be missed. He's become a big part of the team identity and culture as one of the two Splashbrothers and I would just feel bad letting him go. That being said, I would still 100% love to get Love in the rumored deal involving Klay.

Kevin Love Has Interest in Golden State

Summer 2014 - When pipe dreams do come true. Kevin Love only has one more year on his contract and he's made it clear he's not coming back. Flip Saunders might finally be realizing he needs to trade Love now or lose him for nothing next season. The Dubs, along with the Bulls, are one of the few teams that he likes. We don't have any high (or stash of low) 1st round draft picks like the Lakers or Suns, but a Love for Lee and Barnes deal could be enough to entice the Wolves to pull the trigger with us. Myers, make it happen!
