Non-guaranteed contract from Pelicans
In overall production Anderson is a small drop off from Lee but he is younger and an elite stretch 4 which Kerr desires. Gordon by himself would greatly improve our bench. Plus, there isn't a more cost-effective way of filling out the bench than through the draft.
Seems like they'd rather start Evans and have Gordon come off the bench which he's not happy about. Plus with no draft picks, Barnes is an intriguing solution for SF. Lee would bring a veteran presence which the team is lacking. Richardson could be an asset as an expiring contract which they can flip for help during the trade deadline if they are in playoff contention. Lastly, Gordon and Anderson are going into next season with injury concerns which makes it easier to part ways with them.
They have five 2014 2nd round draft picks. They are rebuilding but I doubt that they want half of their team to be rookies. With that said, giving up two 2nd rounders in exchange for $6M more in cap space can be a reasonable deal for them.
Final Warrior moves:
Draft Mitch McGary and Joe Harris with the two 2nd round draft picks.
Sign Brandon Rush to a minimum one year contract.
Sign Jordan Farmar to a two year contract with one of our exceptions.
Sign Thompson to a 4/$40M extension.
