There have been so many rumors linking the Warriors to potentially landing Kevin Love in a trade (via David Lee and Harrison Barnes), but not everyone seems to be that thrilled about it. The idea of having another top 10 player in the league on our team is intriguing, but is he the right player for our team at this time?
So let me present another scenario (if the trade is unrealistic just remember it's only a random idea).
David Lee + Harrison Barnes to the 76ers for Thaddeus Young + the #10 pick in this years draft + possible filler to make salaries match up.
First, why this makes sense to the 76ers: They are in complete rebuilding mode, that might even be an understatement, and an up and coming young player like Barnes is just what they're looking for. David Lee helps make them somewhat competitive while putting a smart savvy veteran next to their long term project Noel for a couple of seasons. Their starting lineup will be decent (Noel, Lee, Barnes, No. 2 draft pick, and MCW). Plus, Thaddeus Young wants out anyways.
Why this makes sense to the Warriors: Thaddeus Young is only 25 and makes considerably less money than Lee, so there will be some more cap space. He's very athletic, plays great on D, and can slide to the 3 in a big lineup. The Warriors have been looking for a low post player who plays solid D, and there just aren't that many out there available. The most intriguing part of this trade is getting into the draft in a spot that we can get a potential difference maker. Depending on how the other teams pick, that #10 spot could be used on a very good prospect (Mcdermott, Gordon, Stauskas). I would personally take Mcbuckets in a heartbeat if he is available, who do you guys like? Our lineup: Bogut, Young, Iguodala, Thompson, and Curry. Bench: Draft pick, Green, Speights, Ezeli, Nedovic (hopefully he's ready this season), free agents.
In conclusion: Maybe Love...insert cheezy music reference here.
