As the World Cup is nearly halfway over and training camp, the Golden State Warriors are finalizing what appears to be their Santa Cruz Warriors roster for the 2014-15 season. The team officially announced the signings of Aaron Craft, James McAdoo, and Mitchell Watt. Each contract is partially guaranteed and depends on how much time said player spends on the big league roster. In other words, this is organizational depth and shouldn't be looked at as anything else for this season.
Meanwhile, the first preseason game is on October 7, 2014 against the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center. A little more than a month away, the Warriors roster is looking as finished as can be. Without much big man depth, it's worth monitoring what Festus Ezeli is able to bring as the off season winds down.
Other updates around the team:
- Nemanja Nedovic has 5th metatarsal stress fracture in his right foot and will be in a cast for another week, at least. Not effective when on the floor, Nedovic struggled all season in getting there. With the team signing Leandre Barbosa and Shaun Livingston this offseason, management has shown little confidence in the present and future. A late first rounder, it's become increasingly alarming and likely Nedovic's career is over before it had a chance to become Derrick Rose. (The injuries jokes write themselves here).
- Someone tell Klay Thompson that a future max extension doesn't mean he can just do illegal things to his face. Just kidding, keep on cashing them checks.
Reminder: The Splash Brothers' Team USA play Dominican Republic at 12:30PM PST on ESPN2. Tune in during your lunch break while the game is still close.
