The Warriors have had a star-crossed existence in the Bay Area, with much of their existence as a team spent gazing upwards from the bottom of the standings. 2007 was different. It was the first time the Warriors had been ... well, good. After a strong run to the playoffs, the team shocked the #1 seed Dallas Mavericks, and the legend of “We Believe” was born.
The squad, featuring a young Monta Ellis, Andris Biedrins, Matt Barnes, and Stephen Jackson, eventually fell in the second round to — you guessed it — the Utah Jazz. But, they had forever changed the trajectory of a once perpetually-moribund franchise.
The Warriors brought back many of the star “We Believe” players, honoring them just now during Game 1.

Stephen Jackson, as expected, had the last word.
“It was a beautiful time. Y’all took it to a new level. We were happy to be a part of something that was great. Let’s get another championship!”
Indeed, let’s.
