Some things are bigger than basketball. Family, for instance. And for Golden State Warriors forward Jonas Jerebko, that’s on full display. The 10-year NBA veteran left the team during the current road trip to be with his wife, who is expecting the couple’s second child.
Jonas Jerebko will miss the rest of the Warriors road trip. His wife is expecting.

The Warriors have three games left on their five-game road trip: Thursday against the Washington Wizards, Saturday against the Boston Celtics, and Monday against the Indiana Pacers. Assuming Jerebko returns to Golden State when the team arrives home, we’ll next see him on Thursday, January 31, against the Philadelphia 76ers. However, there’s obviously a chance that Jerebko stays with his family for a little while longer, which would be completely understandable.
Timing wise, this certainly works out in the Warriors favor, since DeMarcus Cousins returned over the weekend. Jerebko saw his minutes significantly decline in Boogie’s two games, so this won’t be quite the hit that it would have been a few weeks ago.
On the year, the journeyman is averaging 7.1 points and 4.9 rebounds per game, while shooting 36.5% from beyond the arc.
Congratulations to Jonas and his wife on the incoming addition to their family!
