Yes, Golden State already has a starting shooting guard in Thompson. But that doesn’t matter, according to sources. The Warriors are looking for the best available player no matter the position, especially since the early favorites (Baylor’s Perry Jones III and Kentucky’s Terrence Jones) didn’t impress. Going best available leaves the field wide open for the Warriors. Ross, if Portland snatches up Waiters, could feasibly play SF because his athleticism figures to help him guard the position.

via MT Honestly, it baffles me that workouts matter this much to our FO. Shouldn't they have done their homework during the season?

Stephen Curry eyes August return

I was just going to ask if anyone had an update on both Curry's and Bogut's progress on their ankles? Do you think this summer's rehab will render different results from this past year?

Dion Waiters high on warriors list, Terrence Ross is sleeper pick, and why MKG can slip to 7

According to sources, Waiters is high on the Warriors’ draft board. The 6-foot-4, 221-pound guard has impressed several teams and appears to be one of the hot names. He impresses the Warriors because of his ability to score, create offense and also play point guard. He’s got good size for a point guard. Syracuse coach Jim Boeheim said Waiters’ game reminds him of Dwayne Wade. Ross is more of a sleeper pick. At 6-foot-7, 197 pounds, is in many ways a more athletic Klay Thompson. He can shoot it, and his game is based on his shot. Ross, because of his quickness and hops, was a good college defender with the potential to be a good NBA defender. He rebounds well (6.4 per game last season), too. Like Thompson, Ross needs work on his ability to create for others and needs to get better at getting to the rim and drawing fouls. He also needs to bulk up. Yes, Golden State already has a starting shooting guard in Thompson. But that doesn’t matter, according to sources.

Does Leonard have the potential to improve his defensive game or is it too raw? Is this the reason the Warriors like Zellar over Leonard? He appears to have more upside, more ability, improved drastically from frosh to soph, better numbers as a soph, etc. As we've mentioned before, Leonard's physical tools make him a rare and very intriguing prospect defensively, especially as his frame continues to fill out. He did a better job denying deep post position this season and generally displayed a good effort level, which combined with his size and length, makes him an effective one-on-one defender on the interior, as players have trouble scoring over the top of him. His excellent agility for a player his size should also help him defending pick-and-roll sets, giving him the ability to hedge and recover quickly. A big key for him defensively will likely the mental side of things and how well he can focus and bring consistent energy on each possession and pick up on team defensive concepts. Leonard blocked a solid 2.4 shots per-40 minutes this season, displaying his upside as a rim-protector and help defender at the NBA level. He also improved his rebounding numbers substantially from his freshman season, up to 10.3 per-40, but this is an area where he should be making even more of an impact, as his size and athleticism suggest that he could be much more of a force on the glass. And there are suggestions around the league that Jerry West has a dark horse candidate or two, always an entertaining staple of front-office conjecture.

I think we should seriously consider taking Terrence Ross. Good defender, very good shooter, very athletic, and can play the 2 and 3.
